    does this mean:

same measurement from hub center to fender?
    from ground to fender?
    ground to cab (pinch weld)?
    ground to frame?

I ask because...many trucks I see on this forum considered "level", seem nose high to me? (is this what you call the "Bro" look? and why?)

also, seems the top bed rail has some taper toward the rear?...this makes some trucks look even more nose high, IMO.

personally, I prefer a slight rake in the rear...especially if you use your truck to haul anything or tow.

Yep, there are plenty of trucks here whose owners call "level" that look nose high to me.

"Level" typically means the front is higher than the rear. In too many cases it means the headlight adjustment is way too high as well, as all too many don't adjust it after "leveling". HIDs often get added to compound the issue. Its awesome!

    and sometimes illegal.

i also like the rear to be a little higher than the front.

I have been thinking the same thing. People call 'level' what I see as nose high. I think many people judge ride height via the fenders but a Tacoma with a level frame will appear to sit higher in the rear. Its just that the rear fender is cut out higher than the front.

For the truck to look level, the back needs to be about 1" higher than the front. Much less than that you get the bro lean.

X2. And for the most part they arent talking about an exact height of the truck when they say "level." It can have a 3", 4" or even a 6" lift but still be considered "level" as long as the front matches the rear.

I consider level to be that the pinch weld at the bottom of the cab is the same height at the front as it is at the back. Some people consider level to be that the tire to fender gap is the same in the front as the back. But, if you do this the cab is actually lower in the back than the front because the rear has a higher arch in the fender than the front.

To me level is putting a level on the bedrail. Personally I like the rears to be 2-3 inches higher just so it doesnt look overloaded when ya got weight in the bed.

After you shoot the underside of all four tires with a builder's level to make sure they are exactly the same height that might work

That is how you can usually tell if a truck is used to haul anything or not. With a bike/gear and tools my truck sits just nice and I don't get people flashing me all up and down the road because my headlights are pointed to the sky.

I'm thinking if you did this, and the bedrail was level...the truck may have some rake in the rear.
(I may dig out my Pentax and try it)

maybe Toyota did this on purpose? so the bedrail appears level unloaded...while maintaing some rake for a load?

Point being people say they can throw a level on the bedrail and check to see if the truck is level , this can't work unless , as you know , all the tires are relative to each other and precisely the same height
