one of the jobs i had years ago, i was 18 at the time, got me to lose weight and gain muscle. i went from 190 to 165. i ate anything and everything. i was a night loader for a beer distribution company. since then, i have made my way back up a ways, and i am holding from high 170s to low 180s.

my favorite workout routine right now is beer curls. i couldn't ever cut beer out of my diet entirely. i need it to stay sane.

i am a foreman for electrical construction for work now. beer helps my brain feel better after dealing with the work done by those I am directing. there are times when i want to kick people's asses and do the job myself to get it done right, but there isn't enough time for me to be everywhere at once.

Get a punching bag and take it out on that!!!

Trust me, I deal with stupid people on a regular basis, and cops have the highest rate of divorce, suicide and alcoholism of pretty much any profession out there. Because of the reason you posted, they use it to make their brain feel better after dealing with stupid people.

I ain't here to get on a soapbox, or tell you how to live your life....but there are better, more healthier ways to deal with stress then beer.

Can anyone tell me what 30's and shoulder tubings are? Its for an upper body workout. Also if I dont have a 4 way neck machine is there an effective alternative?

That is actually the plan. I have a Specialized XC Pro full suspension mountain bike and was into the single track riding but haven't done it for a couple years. Was planning to bring my bike to work and ride during lunch. I play softball twice a week and get some cardio there.
I am 5'-10", 185lbs which isn't bad. Last summer I lost 20lbs doing weight watchers with the wife, only gained 5 back over her entire pregnancy.
Just have a slow heart. I will find out more info tomorrow after my dr. appointment.

Please explain to me how a stationary bike is garbage? I use it 7x a week for cardio in addition to my supersets and drop sets I do occasionally when I train.

    I haven't biked since I was 15....

well I guess if you don't want to get better at actual bike riding its ok.. but you use alot of other stuff you don't use when you are riding vs stationary

Training for a triathlon, riding an actual bike is great! Doing cardio, stationary bike works just fine.

Except that cool tour de france trainer bike, I want one of those. LOL!!

    Looking for some critique:

So I've been working out steadily for about 2-3 months. With some weeks of off.

Started off with high rep 15x4 moderate weight

And for 2 weeks heavy 5x4.

Now I am doing the Strong lift 5x5 program. I like the program and I'm 3 weeks in. And I feel the strength coming on. And I'm trying I do cardio 20-30min and isolation workouts on off days. (abs, calves and bi's and tri's)

But what I've accomplished (appearance wise) is minimal. I see guys get where I'm at in a matter of weeks.

I want to know what I need to do or take...

    Supplements are:
    Maxpro protein
    Fish Oil
    BCAAS post and intra
    Fiber
    Enzymes
    Vitamins

And meats and vegetables and carbs (early) of course. 6 meals a day.

My main goal is to get strength and abs.

    Here is my progress pic
    (I've lost a total of 10lbs and hovering at 190lbs 5'11")

    Or
6oz of turkey, wheat bread slice of cheese

    3rd

    Or
    Turkey burger on wheat
    or
    Steak

    4th
    Chicken and assparugus
    Or
    Turkey burger wrapped in lettuce

    5th
    Protein shake

    6th

You HAVE to be consistent. I have no clue where you should increase if it isn't posted.

I havent been counting calories, proteins or carbs. Too be honest I've been pretty general. Trying to consume high protein with every meal. Good carbs early in the day (no carbs late night) I'm taking fish oils (pills) 1-2 times a day.

I tried a calorie counting app. But it was inaccurate.

Sean is the resident expert but......

I'd say lower the carbs even more, and increase the fat. Stick to fats like nuts, avocado's, peanut butter etc. The routine I am on from Mark McManus has me on about 30 carbs a day with a carb up period on the weekend. Eat fat to burn fat. The insulin spikes from carbs are what cause you to store fat, keeping the carbs down and the protein high turns your body and metabolism into a fat burning machine.

But as Sean has said, consistency is key.

Also, I just made some dope ass fucking protein pudding. Heavy cream, water, zero carb protein (Isopure) and agave nectar.

Protein sludge is where it's at....
    Protein + pb+ little water.
Or u can add cream cheese to it, Greek yogurt etc.

If ur meal doesn't contain any fats I'd suggest adding 2 fish oil capsules or 1 tbsp of EVOO to it.
