Excuse me? Do you realize what "stable" means in this context? It means non-varying. Not that it is in any way reliable. Not that I'm saying that apple is unusually crash prone. It goes without saying that it is stable. Which is the same case as it is for Android. Whenever you produce a consumer-ready software system, you ensure that the code is stable first and then push it out.

Unstable software is that which is in a growth phase, typically done using a branch of the primary code base. Unstable software has a tendency to have some or many features broken in it as a result of the software changing dramatically from moment to moment. This certainly does not happen with Android stable. Google forks their development branch, patches up / fixes all the outstanding issues at that point, and pushes a new *stable* version out to AOSP. The current stable version of AOSP is 4.1.1. Google undoubtedly has a non-public unstable version where they are adding new features. The stable version is updated with security and defect patches only.

Be more specific with what? I wasn't making any claims, just asking for clarification regarding your claim. You claimed that Android was flawed and implied with respect to apple, and you didn't provide anything at all to back up that claim. Are you withdrawing that claim?

In this instance, you need to provide evidence of both Android flaws, and that Apple is not at least equally flawed (good luck with the latter). Everything is flawed to some extent. Android flaws are out in the open for the public to see. Apple hides their flaws, so despite their visibility, they are still there.

Of course, there are some more fundamental flaws regarding Apple, philosophical flaws.

Virus? No, I'm afraid not. What you might have received was some kind of malware, but not a virus. Apple is by no means immune to malware either. Malware exploits user trust and perform operations that are clearly contrary to what the user expects. Because it is based on trust, the only way to remove all forms of malware is to remove absolutely all freedom that the user has over its function. Apple tries to do this, and the end result is that they have produced a system that is entirely resistant to user choice. That is far too steep of a price to pay for partial (or even complete) protection against malware. I prefer to apply my intelligence to protecting myself from malware.

As far as your poor Android experiences, that is the side effect of being given the freedom to choose for yourself. So on one hand, you have apple dictating what you have to have. This is what it is, nothing else. A very uniform experience that may work well for some subset of potential customers. They don't offer any solution at all to satisfy those who are unsatisfied by the single option that they offer.

So I say, take a little bit of responsibility for your own decisions. You're here in a forum specific to Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks, I take it that these vehicles are more suitable for you than, for example, a Hyundai Accent.

Now if it were up to Apple to design all vehicles on the road, they would offer you only one choice. Wouldn't it suck if it was Hyundai Accent? And no choice to pick something different.

The other hand, of course, is Android. Android offers something for everyone. If you need something cheap, you got it. If you need something with a keyboard, you got it. If you need something with an HDMI out port, you got that too. If you want a top end rectangle phone like apple offers... you got samsung.

So say the same thing with different words... the point remains that your complaint is that you want to have the very "best" of something and it bruises your ego when something "better" comes out. To this end, you'd prefer that everybody experiences the same mediocrity than someone actually gets something nicer than you have.

    Very selfish.

And achieves nothing. A newer phone doesn't make your phone any less functional than it is. What your phone is, is what it is. It will continue to do everything that it could do when it WAS the top of the top, best of the best.

That's fine, if that's what you want to do, the point is that it isn't a required workaround (aka "hack") that you must use in order to perform simple functions. Photobucket is an image hosting service/software. They exist for you to store and share photos on the internet, not just to post pictures to tacomaworld.com.

Now if your flawed phone can't do this simple task and photobucket offers a workaround, then by all means, go for it. Its too bad that you need to use a hack though, for something this simple.
