Does anyone have the new vs. old part numbers? I don't want to get stcuk with some that will melt again.

Also, do they look the same or are they different?

I've got two melted lenses. I knew I had a bulb out cause my blinker started flashing fast. Went down and picked up the new bulbs. But when I went out to replace the bulbs I realized both lenses were cracked and bubbled. Gonna go to the dealership tomorrow. I've got just under 40,000 so we will see what they say.

Rear leaf and steering column chatter tsb blower mtr replaced(waste of time) 2nd blw. mtr.; new headlights from DRL melt issue new water pump9 leaking0around block) pwr steering rack leaks, right frt. wheel bearing bad.
Have an '09, melted lenses, that the dealer just replaced with the new updated headlight and new bulb sockets!!!. It has two wires to the 4057 bulb which only can run the high element. Sylvania designed the high for turn signal use only, NOT full time DRL. The low element is for running lights. Toyota, in the interest of saving a few pennies cheated the design and made one element do the work of two and got rid of and extra switch that you could turn them off, more money saved. Consumer screwed.

It sucks that Toyota has gone cheap with DTRLs. I have two melted lenses that I didn't notice until after the warranty was up. My wife's '07 Camry has an option to have the DTRLs on or off on the light switch. They should of done that for the Tacoma or have the lights turn off when the driving lights are on.

We have an '09 with about 60K miles and both lenses are cracked and melted. I drive a 2011 but haven't noticed if the lenses are glass or not.

I just put LED DTRL's in mine, hoping to prevent this from happening. They look awesome and they aren't as bright as the incadescent DTRL's

I actually know a few guys who had this happen. My friend has a 2010 and his melted. He just went to the dealerhip and they changed them out for a new pair. My brother has a 2011 and its starting to melt and turn yellow. When i bought my 2012 i asked the dealer about the issue they said the new style of the design of the headlight on the 2012's is supposed to fix that issue...:notsure: i got LED's in mine so im not to worried about it :D

For 2012 owners - our headlights are different and do not have a plastic diffusing lens in front of the DTRL/turn signal like the 2005-11's. I doubt that we're going to have the melting/cracking issue.
