Clazzio leather seat covers and Automotiveinteriors.com

I have been looking around for leather seat cover options for my 09 DC and decided to go with Clazzio covers. They have a ton of options but I chose simple black pvc outers with perf leather centers since they were in stock. If you get custom ones that aren't in stock you will need to wait 8 to 12 weeks. I haven't actually gotten them yet so no pictures until maybe next week, I'll post my before and after as well as how I like them.

The second part of this review is just the site I bought these from. Automotiveinteriors.com is based in my home state, has pretty good prices plus a 5% online discount, and best of all they actually respond to customer emails quickly. I had several questions for them and every email I sent was answered within the hour. I had read of a couple other online sites that carry clazzios but none of them answered my questions until two days later. My total for front and back was $454, it would have been only $427 but I had to pay ma state sales tax. The good thing is since they are near me it shouldn't take long to get them once they ship.

I asked this in a couple other threads but I don't know how to make the arm rest look good. I'm very impressed so far with the quality of the covers but only have the fronts installed as of now. I'll take pictures tomorrow after everything's all done and hopefully I'll figure out the arm rest cover.

 

Finally got them all installed. If you are doing this yourself I'd figure it taking at least 3 hours if not more. I'm not 100% done, I want to go back and smooth things out and tighten some things down but I'm really happy how they turned out. I've had Caltrend, Coverking, and now these and these are by far the best fitting, tightest covers. I especially like how they designed the headrests.

Also, these have a lot of cushioning built in, it's memory foam and ultra comfortable. The seat bolsters kind of shrink with these on but the trade off is worth it. With the stock seats the head rest always kind of annoyed me, I felt like it was too far forward and always hit my head. With these on that problem has disappeared.

Finally, if you are wondering whether to go with the all PVC or leather, if you can afford it I'd go with leather. The PVC looks and feels good but the leather center feels better, plus I don't think it'll be as hot on my back.

Kingston, those look really great. you did a great job. i wish these would come out for the 2012s. it would run me about 50% less than the full leather reupholster....

 

The wrinkles have smoothed out and they look even better now. I've read lots of reviews from people who have the all PVC ones and they like them so I'm sure they'd be good. The perforated center over memory foam seems to keep them cooler than the PVC caltrends I had and the neoprene coverings before that, but I don't know how much of that is due to the perf and foam and how much (if any) is due to the leather.

The only negative I can think of with these is the wait time if you can't find anybody with them in stock. If you are fine with the wait you can get these customized any way you want, I kind of wish I'd gone with white or red stitching instead of black but overall these are the best mod I've done yet for the truck.

Oh yeah, and for anybody wondering, these are air bag compatible. These don't have a flap and cutout like some others do but there is a flyer included with pictures showing how the stitches rip when the airbag is deployed. I hope I never have to find out but I think it looks a lot nicer than the hole and flap ones.

i think the stitching and color you picked now dresses the interior but doesnt over do anything. these things seem like such a perfect blend, half the money of the Katzkins, easier to install, look just as good, add better support, still can add in seat heat! its a no brainer. your install looks totally factory...

i dont see how the 2011 seats can be different than the 2012s? im gonna call them tomorrow and see...

to help you out a little further, if you order thru trdsparks tell them that you are a member of t4r.org (4runner forum) and you'll get 10% off (could be 5% I forget). I ordered these for my old 4runner, but never installed them since I sold the rig right after they arrived from Japan. I don't know if Tacoma World members have the discount thru them or not; haven't seen anything that says we do so I assume not.

automotiveinteriors sells 2012 Double cab kits... they also sell "front seat only" double cab kit which would be exactly what i need...

are the front seats of my access cab the same as the front seats in a double cab? i would think they are identical?

 

the main difference is the sport seats vs non sport seats. I think if you have the sport seats the passenger seat will not fold flat, mine are non sport and the passenger seat back folds forward flat. the double cab or access cab will have the same seats.

 

Sweet review. I just ordered mine about 3 weeks ago, but I did the customs think so I have at least another month left to wait. I currently have coverkings the sport mesh kind and they don't work well. They aren't horrible, but they aren't very good eother

 

my passenger seat folds flat (table top) like yours.
when i spoke to the guys at TRD this morning he said, if its not a bench then its sport... i think there are two versions of front sport seats, one with lay flat passenger and one without... but i could be way off.

 

I think you're right, I guess both seat types are "sport" seats but one has fold flat and the other doesn't.

 

Just left the dealer. The 2012 double cab base seats were different than my access cab.mine look more like your 2009 front seats.
