my intake delema continues

well ive been bored all day and trying to entertain myself by making an intake...autozone failed so i did some searching on here and found the the elbow mod. is there a link to this mod cuz im confused on what it is?
also i got this idea..
what if i take out the pipe that goes from the airbox to the fender, will that do anything? i dont really care for performance but i dont want it damaging anything.
well ya thats all i have come up with( for now hehehe)

Dude, if you aren't going to follow my advice of just throwing in an aftermarket filter element, that's fine but the biggest mod advice anyone will ever give you is this: DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. Wasting time and money making some piece of crap that won't work properly is ridiculous. Save up and buy a real CAI like the TRD or Volant. You'll be much happier in the long run.

If you add the drop in and remove the secondary filter, which is removed when you add a CAI anyway, then it will open up the sound a little. Also, get the exhaust done. That will sound better than the elusive "whistle".

WOW. how stupid that seems to me, I'd rather preserve every inch of roadtime my vehicle gets by doing my mods correctly,

than by screwing up my intake and slapping on an exhaust with TOO little backpressure.

do it right, for reasons other than vanity... or GTFO...

also, that is the first time i have ever used GTFO...

Also, please explain how swapping out a muffler, or even going with a full catback system designed for the vehicle and using the same diameter piping, will result in "TOO little backpressure".

the problem with too little back pressure?

it will let your engine make more power, but if you're not careful you can start toasting things.

at least thats the excuse my mechanic gave my cousin when he toasted the rings in his Vtech...
