That is a pretty good deal. A couple of things to look out for: Check the bottom of the boat for warpage, if it has been stored incorrectly it can warp, making it impossible to steer. Also, that is a serious boat. It will be tippy, and a pain in the ass to get in and out of due to the tiny cockpit opening. Make sure you can get in and out of it without drowning every time. :D

Depends on what you want one for. That is sea kayak for long distance trips. If you want an all around touring, exercise & fishing craft then Academy has a Perception Pescador 12' sit on top for 499.00. It is the old mold of Wilderness Systems Tarpon. I have 2 of those and they are very stable, self draining, have many storage options and places to add navigation, fishing features as well as options for rudder. Again, depends on what you are targeting for usage. These will not be white water or surf playthings but are good for every other use. Very stable to get wife or girlfriend involved with too. Here's a link to the one I'm talking about. It is good deal. I paid 650 each for mine new 5 yrs ago or so...............

I would also suggest, like the posts above, to look into the open style - much easier to get into, and they don't hold water like the closed ones.

in this case you want the Cobra Fish n Dive kayak. my uncle has one, i've paddled it in the ocean a lot. great stability and you can stand up(hence the Dive part.) its a very wide kayak

For the ocean I would want a sit on top for sure. That is a big boat!

I have been lusting after the Liquid Logic Coupe.

Regardless hit me up and we can talk about the boat use, your size, etc and get you into the right boat whether it is from me or something used.

For instance I have a used Tarpon 160I for 600, can ship to you for 50.00. One of the best SOT Touring boats ever made. Also have some closeouts and stuff we are selling off soon.

thanks guys for your opinions... and the guy let me try it out on the lake yesterday and i totally fell inlove with it.. its a little heavier than i would have thought for some silly reason but it glides like its on ice...So...with that said.. i bought it i probably will buy more than just this one long term.. for different applications and for white water.. but now i totally understand why so many people do it.. it is very addictive! So happy that i get to do mods to something else now..LOL
