How are you liking the HYPERTECH? See much of a difference when you programmed it?

Thats odd. I actually saw a huge difference once I installed it. Not for the power but it really corrected my speedo due to the big tires and also brought all 3 shift points back in line with each other. Really cleaned up my shifting, mpg, speedo, and just made the truck run smoother. I didn't want a power chip installed since Im running the TRD Supercharger tune.

I think I got mine from Truckaddons.com. They seem to have the best price on a lot of parts. But I bought mine a few years back.

Custom is anything done to a car that different from stock. Just because I didn't chop, cut, and weld all the parts in my garage dose not make it any less custom.

As for the detailing.... If any of you guys have ever had a real detail done on a car you will know the price is really high.

Im not talking about paying the neighbors kid $20 to wash the mud off your truck and calling it a detail either.

This was professionally done and the price also goes up due to the size of the truck.

This truck was hand washed, clay bared, 3 stages of wax (abrasive, semi-abrasive, non-abrasive) and buffed, and then a 6 month paint sealant was applied. UV protect on all non-painted parts to keep the black from loosing its color. A lot of work and time put in on this.

I generally do this to my truck myself monthly but I shattered my hand last month and had 7 screw put in to tack all the pieces together. Still can't use my hand all that well. It was l lot of money but the paint looks better then the day it rolled off the delivery truck.

MPG is not that bad. I get better MPG then a stock tundra. The supercharger really helps with mpg. Most people think the opposite.
MPG City is usually 14-16 and highway at speeds of 55-65 is up around 19-20. I have actually gotten 22mpg on a stretch of 74/76 heading towards Charlotte, NC doing around 65mph.

The truck does get pretty thirsty at speeds above 70mph.... like 11mpg and lower. But that is rolling at 70-80mph.

For a truck this size on 37s that is pretty f'n good.

    Oh yeah, about the re-gearing.

I didn't feel the need to re-gear. The truck really does not perform any different. The Hypertech program really corrected the computer issue of the tire size. The truck does not run at a higher RPM or bang through the gears quickly at acceleration so the need to re-gear wasn't there. I really don't see anyone with lifted tundra's re-gearing on any of the forums either.

Is there a chip you'd recommend for power, mileage etc?

If I didn't have to sell my Tundra first to make this happen I would make the drive and get this.

There really are not any performance chips out there worth anything. These truck already have a lot of power stock. All I would recommend for power and mpg is to let that 5.7 breath.... add an intake like Volant and a 2.5" - 3" two-in-two out high flow exhaust.

I like the more bossy look of a tundra but there are quite a few things that sticks out on this truck that says, "Just for looks" Id feel like a DB riding around it in because id be getting shit from the diesel guys and the offroad guys, The truck aint fast and the truck cant crawl... Its pretty much for looks.

Now if you had put some of the money towards lockers and regear and just stuck to a really nice capable 3" and only did max 35" tires with some nice 17" wheels. Had a front bumper with a winch and some sliders then id be more inclined to pay 41 thousand dollars.
