Just a bunch of old crap
Depends on where you want the spoiler installed, of course.

Obviously the list of "details" is infinite. I don't believe there's a single Taco owner on here that has one done, and that's over 20k members. Go ahead and be the first, do a full write-up with pics, and you'll be a goddamn patriot hero legend pimp grand master idol

    For starters you'll need:
    . an engine
    . a transmission
. engine and transmission control modules
    . custom engine mounts
    . custom cross-members
    . custom driveshaft
. probably new radiator and custom mounting brackets
. likely an entirely new rear axle to handle the power
    . custom exhaust system
. a ton of fabrication work

    That's just to get started.

Don't expect to pass smog or anything like that unless you're getting an engine from the same year or newer than your current vehicle.

it actually wouldnt be that hard to smog as long as you get all the right stuff on the engine i have a friend with a 2001 and a small block in it and he smogs it with flying colors.

6" Deckplate. Trimmed TB gasket. Grey wire. Disable DRL's.
350's are overrated, anyways. They don't seem to last forever like the Yota engines already in these trucks. If you really want power, just spend less money and effort and get the supercharger.

But, if you REALLY wanted to do it....custom engine mounts, custom crossmembers (for transmission and transfer case mounting), MAJOR reinforcement of the rear-frame, heavier duty rear-axle and front axle, heavier duty front suspension from all of the extra weight.....shall I keep going? And that's assuming the 350 does actually fit in there, which might be tight.

    And yes, nice is overrated.

you basically drop the drivetrain and replace it all
    front end
    rear end
    transmissions
    t case
    motor
    wiring
    computer (if newer)
    mounts
all sorts of shit all you will have left is a tacoma body and frame

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a car with a 350 in it and then put the Toyota body on it?

Like stated above its alot of work and money, my buddy did it to his 89 when we were in HS and granted it was bad ass but just not sure its worth it. His parents were rich so he didnt spend any of his time or money he had someone do all of it but I watched the process and I wouldnt want to do it.

I'd rather rebuild my engine add a supercharger and some nitrous if your thaaat power hungry and financially well off, and why not add a tandem axle or some half-track too to up the bad-ass-ness of this :p

If you want more power, drop down a couple inchs, ditch the boggers, and like others said rebuild +supercharge.
Or sell your i4 and get a v6.

If I was seriously looking at an engine swap I'd keep it in the family and use a toyota 1uzfe. Could also look at the other uzfe motors. Apparently the 1 and 3 were very state of the art does their time, to the point where they are still appreciated today. Plus the idea of an all aluminium 4.0L v8 makes me grin. I read a build where a guy pur one in a 93 or 96 dont remember. Google it. I know there is a company in new Zealand that makes. 1uz to r150f (5-speed manual) adapter plate.

gradually replacing the bumper with hairy bondo ;-)
You have a 3RZ in there now?

Will 1100 horses do you? Heck, that's from 8 years ago, how far can you go now on a 3RZ - but that's the easy web search result to find. Hope you won the lottery.

    A bit more.

If you want a chevy 350, the only remotely affordable way (IMHO) is to get yourself a chevy 4x4 with a rotten body and a good frame, and instead of the Ford Pinto's all the kewl kids were slapping on top of the maxed-out lifted 4x4 in the 1970s (or an AMC Pacer I saw once), slap a Toyota body on there (should be some from rotten frames available cheap...)

LCE supercharger - Probably cheaper than doing a 350.

    Yup.

    Drop a Taco body onto a '74 K5 chassis.
