What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Ordered my idle pulleys last night... cant wait to finally idle normally.

There is an easier way to test. Simply drive normal on the freeway with your foot on the accelerator. With your other foot gently engage the brake, if the engine goes to idle the ECU was reflashed.

 

or look at your paperwork from the last couple times you had servicing done at the dealership

only think they have done is oil. also how would that paper work tell me? got the truck used at one dealer, and go to another dealer for service work. dealer i got it from is about 30 min away. dealer that does work is less than 10.

 

Log in to mytoyota.com or whatever the owners site is now, put in your VIN number and all that noise and it will show all the records associated with that VIN in your service history (if it was done at a Toyota dealer). Since it was a factory recall it should be listed there. Bought mine used, registered my truck on the website and it had all the oil changes, etc that the previous owner had done at the dealer along with the what they refer to as pedal shave.

Changed engine oil with synthetic mobile and transmission oil with synthetic too

Do you know how often you need to change engine and transmission oil?

Engine is 5k, transmission is 50k? If Im not mistaken. Did you do transmission or rear diff?
