04 limited vs. base?

What makes a 'Limited' truck limited?
what package makes the grill and bumpers body color?

 

Mines limited, and have no clew as to what makes it Limited. Maybe its the black fenders, mirrors, door handles? dont know

 

Mine is a SR5 and has black fenders, mirrors and door handles.

I have an SR5 limited... has everything on the trd offroad.... and sr5... plus leather seats... color match door handles fender flares, bumpers, and grill

 

In the 2001 - 2004 era, there were two packages that got you color-keyed grille or bumper(s):

- SR5 Color-Keyed Package (color-keyed grille and both bumpers). Available only in Lunar Mist Silver, Black Sand Pearl, Radiant Red, and Impulse Red.

- Limited Package (color-keyed front bumper and fender flares). Available only in Lunar Mist Silver, Black Sand Pearl, and Radiant Red.

The only 2001 - 2004 model that had color-keyed grille *and* both bumpers *and* fender flares was the S-Runner.

If you got a 4X4 or PreRunner with the TRD Off Road Package your fender flares would be color-keyed if you also had the SR5 Color-Keyed or Limited Package.

it aint much at all LOL!! Here's my window sticker from way back in '01. Hope you can read it but it makes no mention of the chrome side mirrors which were part of it

 

maybe its part of limited bagding?

 

You ARE kidding right? LOL no limited badging is just that-the word "limited" on each rear door

 

ive always wondered that too......mines ltd and my buddys 01 is a sr5 and the only diff. is he has black flairs and black mirrors, my mirrors are chrome and and myy flares are matched

The door handles bit is confusing, because most of the sales / spec literature is foggy about it.

In the 2001 - 2004 era, there were two ways to get color-keyed door handles:

- the SR5 Color-Keyed Package
- an S-Runner

The Limited Package had chrome handles. None of the documentation mentions the possibility of getting both the SR5 Color-Keyed Package *and* the Limited Package, so I'm not sure what you would have gotten if you could have ordered that combo.

 

The spec / sales documentation states that chrome mirrors are part of the Limited Package.

If I'm not mistaken, the Limited Package was the only way to get the chrome outside rearview mirrors.

There was an optional Convenience Package that included power mirrors, but I believe the ones included with this package were plain black.
