Just got a set of these for my 2012. Im running 285/70/17. Had the BFG AT's, same size on my 2008. So far I like these much better, but after a 1000 miles, I've got this crazy steering wheel shake at 45-50 mph!! Tires are balanced, so not sure what the deal is  Anyone else experience this?

I'm guessing it is related to the 3 inch lift called out in your list of mods instead of the tires.

I've got around 34,000 on mine. I could get 40,000 pretty easy, but I don't think I want to run them for another winter. I will buy another set of these for sure:thumbsup:. They have been the best snowtire I've run. I'm pretty happy with the wear. IMO, 40,000 is exceptional mileage for a relatively aggressive tire. Kudos to those getting more than that, I'm jealous.

Mine are 285 70 17's on stock Sport rims with an 1 1/4" spacer. The new rims are 9" wide, I wonder if the wear characteristics will be the same with the wider rim?:notsure:

You think so, huh? Well just noticed the shake after 1000 miles of having the 3" lift and tires. If it was the lift, do you think I would have experienced the shake soon after it was installed? And the shake reflects the type of pavement Im on, concrete=shake not so bad; distressed asphalt=no good!

I'll look around to see if any tire shop around here does a road force balance.

LOL well I strugged over that decision and decided to go with the 265 C rated tire. It didn't cost me much MPG really. Maybe 1mpg less. Funtionally I have yet to have these tires let me down in any off road situation and they look fine on the truck with 2.5" lift. Some might say they look a little small but I dont give a rats a** and I didn't have to cut or hammer anything and the gearing is fine. Also I tow a small camper. They work great.

my fenders are allready chopped, it was that way when i bought it, but i have Chrome Rims Dammit !! i want black, and powder coated them is 500 for that much i can get new rims. i guess gas is not really an issue, but i want 10ply,s or i can settle for D class

they dont look bad i just hope my truck does not look ugly with 265's i mean its a 30 dollar difference per tire

It's just D or E rated so its a Much heavier tire so acceleration and MPG will suffer quite a bit more than the 265 C's unless you regear. If you dont tow or carry heavy loads you'll be fine.

Yeah, they use the Cummins QSB 3.3 in all their trucks. Not sure if you can spec anything else but you could always call them and find out.
