I have a 2011 base model tacoma, and it didn't have keyless entry, but had power locks. So, I had an alarm with keyless entry installed.

Anyways, it seems fine so far, the only thing I am unsure of is if the parking lights are done correctly.

outside of the truck the parking lights flash twice and then stay on for a few seconds (or until you open the door) when you unlock truck. But the odd thing is, that the dash lights (speedometer, VSC, traction control, and shifter lights) all bling twice as well and then stay on.

It looks kinda cool, but I wasn't sure if it's supposed to be like that? Or maybe they shouldn't blink like that as well? and if so, my only worry is that with them blinking every time I unlock the car could it cause them to burn out? or cause other issues?

    Thanks for the input!!

    Dash lights are LED.
Your only actual "lamps" are the two in the AC control panel, and the lights in your pushbutton switches on the left.

okay, fair enough. Well, they all come on. I'm just wondering if they should do that, and if it could pose issues down the road

Yeah! That's exactly what they do, I've never had an alarm before though, so I didn't know if it was supposed to do that or not! I appreciate the response, i'm just protective of my truck because it's new and it cost me everything I had! And I plan to keep it for a long time, so I want it to work for me.

Anyways, thank you! I appreciate it.
