    its not that big a deal to change a cv. I have no choice to run my lockers all the time, but if i had selectable lockers they would be on always on the trail. Whats the point in having them if you don't use them. I have a buddy that I used to wheel with all the time. He had the TRD locker in the rear and a ARB up front. He would try obstacles all the time without turning his lockers on, try them 3-4 times then turn his lockers on and crawl right up it. I always wondered why he would beat the shit out of his truck before turning on his lockers. After he tore up the trail trying to make it open I would just crawl on up it. In my opinion if you don't think you will need to have a front locker on all the time you do not need one.

    well if an obstacle looks bad..id put the rear one on before..but i wouldn't do the front unless i got stuck with the rear locker engaged..just how i would drive it..I mean i know how to judge an obstacale and go..shit, wish i had a locker, oh well..BRAAAAPPPP lol if i had a locker id go..cool, engaging the rear :cool:

    I agree with this, well mostly. The whole time in Moab I was in 4-Lo with the rear locker engaged. My front one will only be on if I need it since it interferes with steering so much, but I will be pretty generous about when I will need it and not. It's not all that cool to get up something without your lockers, because typically you can get up most things with enough speed. I like the idea of getting up obstacles without using speed. It can make them more challenging and you are less likely to break something.

    Haha. The front two axles steer and the rear axle steers the opposite way. The have a 4 setting selector switch for different terrains.

    And yeah I can see how it would be a bit trickier in a manual. haha
    You guys have your advantages too though. haha

    I can see where you guys with ADD would not want to run it all the time. That's just not my style. To me a trail is not a trail unless front and rear lockers are needed. anything else is just a road to me.

    For those of us that have never had the experience of wheeling with the front locked, it is very difficult to know what we would do given that opportunity. It is easy for you to say that because you are long past the beginner stage where those choices are being made. :cool:

    I agree with this approach. I have always preferred finesse over brute force. It is a lot easier on parts in the long run.

    I actually had it made by a local guy about 11 years ago. It was a copy of a Stout bumper made back then. I believe it is 4"x 2" I don't keep it at my house other wise I would go and check it for ya. I will be doing some work on it Saturday. Ill get some pics and measurements for ya. If all goes as planned it may be for sale later this winter.

    Come on over! We don't have any long trails but I can take you to 3 different areas within 2 hours of my house. 2 of them you can wheel in a day, the 3rd would take you about 3 days to do all of them. Google Elbe Hills, Evans Creek and the 3rd is the Naches area.
