You're talking about the extremists, Which unfortunately seems to be all that you have knowingly encountered... I can say the exact same thing about christians, But that is just generalizing a entire group and not the individuals.

I'm not ashamed, I am a gay guy... About 95% of my friends are straight, The remaining 5% are gay bar friends at our normal watering hole (straight bar). None of them hate straight people or other gender gays including myself. I don't care about someones color or sexual preference as long as their views don't directly affect me (gay marriage).

If we were to have ever met, You wouldn't know i'm gay... I can talk for hours about cars, sports and i'm brushing up on guns as me and a few friends are looking into getting our CCWs to hit up the range on some weekends and for home protection. From my years of being "out", I'm not the only "indisguise" homo... We are everywhere, We just don't care what people think of us or care to announce it at the roof tops unlike the super homo's who for some reason act like girls (if you have a dingaling, act like it).

No I dont think gay marrage is right, 2000 years of Adem and Eve and some folks want to force me to change what I think overnight,, good luck on that one. Jim

I can't speak to the angry/hate issue because I don't associate with gay people. Although most in the media are very "militant" in their approach.

I have an aunt (passed) who was lesiban. She told me point blank that her sexuality was a lifestyle choice and homosexual men & woman are not born "gay". She was an old school lesbian, out...but not pro gay marriage. She once opined that "there are black gays, but gay isn't black, and this is not the civil rights movement...I wish these people would just shut up" (paraphrase)

She also seemed a very happy and cheerful woman...although that may have much to do with the fact that I never saw her w/o a drink in her hand.

I believe, some men are born a little feminine...some women born a little masculine...but the sexual act with the same sex is a choice. Some are lured into the lifestyle when young and impressionable. Others from resentment or other issues.

Who cares how you become or choose to be gay , straight or bi , all people should be afforded the same treatment , otherwise , no matter how you spin it , you are discriminating against them

sorry, but I missed the discrimination in this thread? or, were you speaking in a general sense?

curious? you think the media affords the "same treatment" to canidate Romney as they afford President Obama?

you believe rock stars...sports stars...movie stars...are afforded the same treatment as the average Joe?

how about on a job interview? you think the guy who shows up with face tattoos and face peircings is afforded the same treatment as one who shows up clean cut?

How about Jews? Catholics? Irish? Blacks? Egyptians? Christians? Muslims? Indians?.. you believe the world historically (and today) affords them the "same treatment"

even the "person" in the OP video here, you think he walks into a room, and is afforded the same treatment?

how about the man who is tall and hansome? or the stunningly attractive woman?...they get afforded the same treatment as the short chubby balding guy?...or the homley average women?

    :notsure:

I believe all people , regardless of race , religion , lack of religion , gender or sexual preference should receive the same treatment , especially , but not limited to , their rights / treatment afforded them by their own government

I'm not sure how that statement can be difficult to grasp

most would agree they should. however...you didn't answer my question as to whether they do.

my point is: Gays do not have monoply on "afforded" treatment.

Okay I'm going to step out here and make myself a target for rotten tomato throwing.

There sure is a lot of nastiness regarding gays in this thread. I think more than anything, those who are offended by the commercial were those who can admit that if the model had more bodacious ta-tas then they would not feel so threatened.

And by threatened I mean that if it were not known before hand that this was a male model, then most of you guys would agree that he (she) is hot. And feeling that about a *gasp* male threatens manhood.

So right away comes the harsh remarks in defense of one's own manliness.

I don't know. Perhaps my different view comes from me being raised in a city that is proud to be a welcoming home to gays, lesbians, and transgenders. To me they are all human. Humans with feelings, strengths, weaknesses and who contribute to the community as much as the next person who is not.

And I don't think being gay or lesbian is "learned". It's who they ARE.

I never said gays have a monopoly on afforded treatment

Obviously , the reality is that many groups are discriminated against , not sure what your point is though

Honestly dude, you've got balls for admitting you're gay on a forum like this which is really right leaning (as you can see). Kudos to you good sir.

In regards to this whole "gays chose to be gay" thing. I thoroughly believe that there are people of both genders who are born gay, and I also believe that there are some people who choose to be gay. Either way, any human being in this "free country" should have the right to marry another human being if they so choose. Also, any woman in this "free country" should be able to get an abortion if they so choose. You get my point.

Also, there is no "Adam and Eve", unless "Adam and Eve" happened to be the names of two microscopic organisms that formed billions and billions of years ago. :D

can someone please point me to the posts in this thread where gays were discriminated against?

or, where someone was offended by the OP. or offended by gays in general.

    thank you.
