Afternoon all: Hummm! Don't need instructions, HUH!
I think I"ll send a disassembled Holley carb. down to Jim, with all the new parts, and let him assemble it; minus the instructions.
    They're easy!, :D,

Found another thing on the furnace that needs to be checked, the transformer. If that's not working right, it could be causing the problem.
    Getting there!

Morning eeryone! Great 3 day weekend ahead!!

I'm doing a leg of a transport for a 3 month old puppy this morning - 75 miles each way - to get this young rescue pup to his new foster home.

Of course, there will be some grass cutting and re-loading going on during the weekend. And some shooting. This is the last weekend before the vintage Sniper Rifle Competition so I've got to get everything ready to go.

Stay safe, dry and enjoy the weekend!

Evening all: AHHH! Finally got to take a hot shower today.
A little tweaking, and hopefully the furnace is good to go.
The transformer is borderline; working but weak. I'll replace it ASAP.

Used to do some animal rescue work and it was very rewarding. The problem was, I wanted to keep all of them ... :D

    It's not early... it's late ;)

You need to clean your window's :p

I need to find a new rescue group... the one I fostered puppies for didn't seem to have the pup's or my dog's interest at heart.

Morning everyone! Back to work but at least it's a short week. Waiting for the rains to start here in northeast PA - the remnants of Isaac finally arriving.

I got to do a final zero on the Soviet sniper rifle I'll be using for the upcoming competition. I wanted to ensure I had a solid zero with the hand loads I'll be using.

I had a digital scale toast itself last week when I was reloading 25 rounds for this weekend - though I had at least 3 underpowered rounds in the mix. I have a new scale and turned out the 120 rounds I need for the 2 day competition.

Here are my targets from yesterday's work. I started on the lower left. This rifle holds 5 rounds in the magazine so I shot groups of five so that I had to cycle the bolt and then reacquire my sight picture. First 5 were just right of the bull, made a slight adjustment and got 4 bullseye hits and one just right.

Then I moved to the lower right - 10 rounds where I played with my visual alignment of aim point. 2 groups of 5 again - and each group had a low powered round.

After adjusting the windage know to zero it out, I fired 5 check rounds at the center red bull. I think I have it pretty much dead on, no?

Interestingly, it appears the the underpowered rounds were all the same since the strike on the targets is cinsistent.

It's actually a 50 yard zero - should be right about on at 100 based on the normal ballistics for the rifle.

Getting brass isn't too hard - it comes up from time to time from people selling it and you can also buy commercial stuff and reload. Several companies sell unfired brass - sometimes hard to find the less expensive stuff.

But, if you're just plinking with thses rifles, it's much cheaper to shoot ILSURP than to reload.
