What height setting do you have your 5100's set to with the ToyTech coils?

 

Ive been wheeling for over 8 years in 3 different rigs. So im no beginner but i still try to make it up obstacles open diff for a few reasons it helps me learn my truck better and if i make it up one open diff no matter how hard i strugled it gives me bragging rights over all those who just locked it all up and drove up it.. and ive crawled with open diffs hell ive crawled in 2wd the great thing about an auto.

over kill it's a croud pleaser...

thats not hard to do if i lock up my front ill wheel till i break on and if i don't need it for the next obstacles ill keep wheeling it till i break the other. Reason id rather fix it in the parking lot with a cold one.

 

At 0". You have to run it like that. If you precompress them you'll get like 5" of lift

 

I think I read that at the "0" setting some folks with xcab get more than 3". Your bumper and winch will impact how much you end up with.

 

That's what I figured. I am goIng to try and use my coils off my SAWs. My buddy is going to machine a new lower collar for the coils to sit on. I'm just not sure how much lift the SAW coils will give me. They are the 650# coils.

I believe it or the scales are way off around here. Case my old taco, which was a '98 x-cab on 35's with all the armor and normal stuff unloaded for any sort of a trip was 5600lbs. My new taco is 5800lbs. So unless the scales over are way messed up it is totally possible to be 6000 on a d-cab. And blingtaco weighed in at 6700lbs when he put his truck in the Baja500. It was a SAS'ed 2003 x-cab on 37's with almost enough spare parts to build a new suspension or drivetrain in the back of his truck. He had no chase team. Lol.

 

What scale did you use? Can I go stick my rig on it and see what it weighs? I guesstimate about 5200lbs with me in it based on the other scale I weighed my taco on in Malad.

 

i used the scale at the city dumps i had to make a run anyways.

 

side note i believe my truck is so heavy cuz of it's ego.

 

I think its cuz of the SC

 

The S/C causes the big ego which causes the extra weight Air is heavy you know

 

everytime i break an axle shaft i get lighter then i go a while and get heavy again then i break another axle you know from the weight putting to much load on it. it wouldnt have anything to do with the HP or front locker.
