It's hard to believe much over 21 mpg unless you stay under 60 mph and are very light on the gas. I did have an anomaly last month from Kanab, UT to Page, AZ where I got 23 mpg. I had 3 adults and 700 lbs cargo. I went about 180 miles with a 2000 foot drop and didn't hardly ever get over 60 due to construction traffic. I couldn't believe it and had my son check the math a couple of times. Maybe the pump shut off early on a fill-up. I usually average 18-20 mpg without trying.

Just curious...is it worth it to get a few more miles per gallon with the added cost of the non ethanol? I only use it for the outboard motors on the boat but last time i filled up it wasn't cheap.

Yes, to me its worth it.

Also, I never use the AC, and drove 65 mph for around 150 miles of this tank, the rest was "town" driving.

For those non believers out there, don't know what to say other than why would I lie about gas mileage?

When I had to fill up with Eth gas for a few months last summer I always got around 19-20mpg. Im just hoping that the one station in town that supplies non eth gas can keep it coming!

Depends on the added cost. I used to pay 10 cents more and it was well worth it. 50 cents more probably not.

My E0 station discontinued 4 years ago.

My 2006 DCSB got about 18.5 with 265/70/17 Nittos. Now I have a 2012 Silverado extended cab with the 5.3 and I get about 17.5 and on road trips I usually see 19.5ish. Not bad for a full size truck IMO

The non ethanol here runs $4.79 a gallon (92 octane.) OP...what's it cost where you are?

I get a little over 20 on average. What's funny is that I get worse mileage on the highway. I can only find 10% ethanol.

21-24 sounds about right for what I was getting when I was stock.. could com close to 390 miles before the light came on. THEN I went to E-rated 285 AT's... and now I get like 18-19. lol oh well, I still think it is good for a lift and big meats.

well it still cost your friend time and a little bit of money to buy the chemicals and tools to make the bio diesel. With a good set up to make enough fuel to sustan his vehicle its a full time job. realistically hes paying between 60 cents to $1.15 in lye and methanol to break down the grease into triglyceride fuel.
trust me iv'e looked into this.

Bw s256 turbo with 3 in glass pack dumped pre axle raptor liner bed and top rails and fenderflares and rocker panels. Hunter side steps. Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
i got over 23 a time or two when i used to drive 18 miles to work 6 stops about 50-60 mph avg with street tires. i now drive 3.7 miles to work with about 1 in taller tires AT and get 18-19. i wonder if putting helium in ur tires instead of air would net better mileage, that would be pretty serious weight reduction if the spare was factored in at 40 psi. ur exhaust my be a bit squeaky tho
