That part I got, just securing to deck and how to "lay" lowest stair to ground. Which will b on the patio. Should it lay on the patio block or, into the gravel base below? That and attaching to deck are only concerns. Figured out tread and riser part of it. I need 8 stringers for 12 ft wide stairs I believe and 5/4 brd for the rest. Why couldn't it be audio so easy. Wiring up outdoor sounds as well, gena n I looking for right hot tub too. Gonna be a sexy place in the yard soon :)

steps NEED to 'land' on a slab and be tied in below the frost line. I know a guy who got paralyzed because his weren't. he walked out his door to his deck and the stairs shifted and he fell 10' on his neck. not cool.

    DO IT RIGHT!!!!

you should either get the help of a pro or hire a pro or get a book and read up. start watching Holmes on Homes

I forgot about this, I think we are about as flat as it gets down here so the code is going to be a little different.

I just realized, gena works 4 days a week about 12 hrs a day. Not for me lol, she's a lot younger and can deal, that kind of abuse is not for me. Yard has changed quite a bit since last visit b, not sure when u'll see it. If 2 bdays, engagement, almost being killed isn't enough to get u here, guess it'll just have to b a free beer n tomato plant kegger :)

Ive been so broke it's a joke + new company bitches about my gas use

not like the old days when I could drive down to URE NC meets on their dime.

I just got a offer last week and am waiting for an interview next week. Already had my phone interview. Sucks because I just got a raise this week at work. Boss said.... " I was thinking of firing you, but you have been doing great so here's another 5 sick days" and now I get a higher % of sales going into my quarterly bonus checks. Still 25k away from where I was 3 years ago, but it takes a while to fleece them

Good news man....hope it works it, life is always an uphill battle in ni, but that just keeps it from getting boring. :) jobs are lucky to have us, not the other way around, I refuse to work where I'm under valued and under appreciated. Too old for that shit. Let's go self employed and call it a day :D

If I had a million in the bank to set up a shop and cover the first couple jobs I would. Subcontractors are now banks. GC's take 90-120 days to pay so we need to cover those expenses until then. Also I would go non-union so need at least 5k a year in tire expenses cause the scum bags would be flattening them every day.

Sounds nice. I have been to VT and CT but I don't venture up to the north end of Jersey often. My older brother lives in Hillsbough which is a little south of Eddie and It still has been a couple years since I have been up there, but I think I am due for a road trip soon. :)

This. I will put in 12 hour days but when I'm done, I'm done. No weekends unless it's for extra money. And it has to be a boatload to make me do it.

Damn man. Good luck with the offer. It's a shame you're not closer. I could use another Project Manager. I've got a few that aren't cutting it. I had one order a four stop elevator for a five story building last month.

Ehh, it's not worth it either. Just a lot more income, a lot more bills to pay with said income and essentially about the same bottom line. Not to mention all the extra stress. Been there, done that.
