Bilstein 5100's up front at 2.5in, Toytec 1.5in AAL in rear. MB 72's, Goodyear Duratracs 285/75/16, Wet Okole seat covers.
I was using towels too. I go kayaking a lot and sometimes wet when I get back in my truck. I bought Wet Okole's seat cover for my bench this year and very happy with them. I haven't loaded any pictures of them yet but maybe tomorrow I'll take some pics and load them.

I scored a Wet Okoles bench seat cover for my 2012 here in the for sale forums, the bench seat style is rare but I need something to protect them and has the side air bag openings for the air bags in my seat,

Cool thing is they are Real Tree camp, for us rednecks in Da South, I can't wait to get it on!

    With pics of course!

Yeah man, most of my posts since joining have been trying to figure out what the hell is up with this transmission. I really don't like having to shift at 3k+ rpm to avoid the cracking and clanking in to second (and hesitation). Especially right when I'm taking off in the morning, that doesn't sit well with the idea of babying the truck. I emailed my Toyota dealership service department to ask WTF this was about and they said they'd try a few on the lot and see if they also notice it. I don't know how they couldn't notice it unless the techs beat the hell out of lot trucks :|

Mentioned it before, but I specifically sought out the 5spd manual because I've always driven manuals and wanted to cling to the 'driving experience' as much as possible stepping down from a ~300hp/tq turbo sports sedan. I've dealt with awful traffic in my years and it sucks, but you get used to it. Not with this truck, it's a fuckin nightmare in traffic - You either rev to 3k and smash in to the person in front of you, or you deal with the snap crackle pop clunk crunch noise going in to second, or even first to neutral. Really didn't want a gear hunting auto but this transmission has driven me nuts since 1 mile on the clock and I'm clearly not getting the hang of it after almost two months because it's just not right. It sucks for my fuel economy and idea of grannying my purchase, and the alternative sucks for the banging on the transmission forcing it in to gear. Really it's the only thing that bugs me about these things and I have a hard time seeing how they ever released vehicles like this.. for years and years :|

I would definitely pursue all you can and ask Toyota to help figure out what it is and the repair, I've torn apart Honda Civic trannys and usually if there is a grinding at all even with the clutch working normally, on a very close inspection the synchros have these teeth and they are called "dog houses" as the whole gear looks like a bunch if little dog houses all in a row, when they a abused over time they start to flatten out, the synchros are brass, now working normally they align for the next shift and dont get tore up,

I am very curious how many transmissions Toyota has gone into to replace the parts, at the dealer we didn't have that many, my 99 Civic did this at 28,000 miles or so, they replaced the parts needed and she was back to new in a week,

Sounds like you used to drive a BMW 335i ???

Good luck with is bro, and please keep me informed with a PM, I have read of people using better quality gear oil and such but why should that be needed on a new tranny?

I also know there is a huge difference in "gear oil" versus the Honda MTF that is a lot more runny than the gear oil, you put gear oil in a Honda manual and you will burn it up.

Naw, tuned 05 Subaru Legacy GT. I'll see if I can get someone to take a test drive with me when I go in for an oil change, I have a hard time believing that anyone could tell me it sounds fine, unless they have this planned out so they know most problems will become unbearable just as you're out of warranty ;)
