Gotta take every possible insurance discount that you can get..

That doesn't change the fact that it's still creepy as hell..
My parents have it on their cars also.. they're not doing it to stalk me, just to save money. Good to have if any of our vehicles get stolen too. Edit: I do agree with what you're saying though.

You're thinking about a day and age where kids were only exposed to the people in the neighborhood or town. Nowdays kids are exposed to every person on the Internet, able to hold secret conversations and expose/be exposed in secret with their phone, and have secret lives without their parents knowledge.

Kids today are no comparison to kids 10 or 20 years ago. I remember growing up playing baseball in part of a field that the farmer kept mowed for us. I had to be home before dark and I had the 800 acres behind me to use for whatever I wanted to do. When I was younger I mainly explored and fished, but as I got older I used it to ride horses, take girls out in the woods, and hunt.

Today kids have the Internet, social media, cell phones and about a million more ways to get into more trouble than I ever did. With this increase in dangers I think it is only smart that parents increase how they keep tabs on their kid's actions; to simply ignore their kids actions is completely irresponsible IMO.

This is true, kids are supposed to push the limits, and if they get caught then they deal with the consequences.

Good question, what did happen to that? Kids aren't doing it anymore, parents have to be way more stalky.

Kids have more technology and access to things, therefore parents have to keep up.

When you have kids you will understand. I raised hell when I was younger and hated my parents catching me, but that was there job in order to keep me on the right road. Likewise, my 1.5 and 3.5 year olds are already hell raisers, and I have to do what I can to keep them in check, but not under lock down.

The key is as parents to understand they are not perfect and are going to get in trouble. You have to be understanding but still constantly set boundaries (that will continue to be pushed).

And in all honestly I think video games are the downfall of this generation. It pisses me off to see my 15 year old brother sit around and play Xbox all damn day instead of being out side or hunting and fishing.

This can be said of just about anything, depends on how it is used. Government entitlement programs can be very useful to society when used appropriately to help those who truly cannot help themselves, and are not abused by lazy people and people who just don't care.

Kids today use their imagination; but sadly it is scary when they do it.

Sadly that is the truth that a lot of kids today think will never happen to them.

Its just the fact that he would rather sit and play COD than go out and actually do something. You don't make childhood memories playing Xbox

Ok. I am potentially moving out to Dallas Fort Worth. I am a little scared that there is no places to off-road locally. Can any of yall tell me otherwise? Thanx

I can't fully argue that; but I do know I had some good times playing Xbox with buddies. That said it wasn't the only thing we used to do; it was just one of the ways we decompressed from the week.

If he likes COD so much why not take him to a three gun match or something like that?

No, they were always scary, I could tell some stories and my uncles can even top those. Again, it just comes to access to more resources. I can't even imagine how much more trouble I would have been in had I had a cell phone:(

Morals start at home, but with access to the communication like it is today, morals can easily be swayed. Political correctness is killing morals in my opinion. That is a whole different conversation though.

I personally would go hunting over playing video games any day. If he's happy though, what does it matter? :notsure:

Because he doesn't like guns. Taaken him hunting a couple of times and he hated it.

Paintball isn't a bad idea...might try that actually

Going to need to define "off road" first. There are places around here that are all about the mud and other places that are all about rocks. Either way there is not near the open places like in Southern California. DFW is wide enough that depending on which side of the metroplex you are on there are different options close at hand. West DFW has Bridgeport and east DFW has Gilmer. Central Texas (only 3-4 hours away) has quite a few parks that are really good.

Either way there isn't much/any off road racing type places. Mainly just rocks and mud.

IMO sitting around playing videogames is a waste of your life. You only have so long to go out and be a kid

I guess I'm kinda screwed for my kind of off-road activities. I do like trails and such. Rocks not so much, and being 2wd mud is a no go. Fuck I guess ill just buy guns instead.
