OP I just installed the full OME kit with Dakars and have a full 3" lift. I also was unsure about UCA's but as usual, I asked for help here on TW. After some great reviews, I jumped in on the LR UCA group buy and couldnt be happier...

better to do now than to have to go back if needed and do all over. plus its a safety issue I wasnt willing to gamble for... and the group buy cost is a deal!!!

    oh and my measurements:

UCA set at +1 and 2 degrees of caster :D

must be different measurements where he is lol

The people who didn't fork out the funds for the new UCA's but claim to have a "awasome ride" have no numbers to show for this?

When I lift mine Im getting them regardless, no need to risk safety over 370$ because i didnt think you "needed" them.

    Hey Triston

If you decide to get the Light Racing UCA's I would suggest Fat Bob's Garage. Best price I could find and reasonable shipping to Canada.

I too would suggest getting them. I know a few who did not get them but eventually did. You can always try without and see first but like I said Fat Bob's has a decent price and pretty good group as well. I believe I got mine for around $450 after shipping. Good luck and looking forward to your build.

You could always do this too and get them shipped to a Montana outlet and go down and pick them up. That could save you a little money. Fat Bob's had them for $379 plus the shipping. I was to lazy to drive down to Montana plus the gas there and back so just got them shipped to the house.

Shipping to Canada is so darn expensive sometimes.

If there is to be any "butthurt" in this thread it's not going to be on my end. I have my opinion & advice based on my own personal experience in this dept. I never once said on this thread that aftermarket UCA's were not a good thing to have & I didn't claim it could not help your alignment #'s either for people that are having problems obtaining what they need after the lift is put on. OP was curious whether or not they are a MUST which I made clear they are NOT. I did not get a printout showing me what my readings were & have no desire to do so provided my truck rides like it's suppose to and my tire wear (which I keep an eye on & rotate as required) is not excessive. In my case, they are not "needed". Would I like to get some in the future if I decide to go higher or notice a problem? I'm sure I would. As of right now, I don't NEED to spend almost $400 because it's just fine the way it is & I take great care of my truck & would getting it fixed right away if I knew something was wrong with it.

Big 10 tires in PC, FL is where I had the alignment done. I would imagine in most cases you would have to request this printout because other than the receipt stating vehicle info & what was done, I have never received specs on camber, caster, etc when getting an alignment done. I do however know that if I drive down the road & I'm not fighting with the steering to keep it straight, that I'm most likely gtg. It drives great at all speeds including highway & I did plenty of research prior to getting the lift to decide whether or not I needed the UCA's. I decided to not get them based on that research here on TW at the height my lift was going to be, and like I said before I have had no problems whatsoever.

Interesting , in my experience it's common practice for all alignment shops to provide the customer with an alignment printout .

That particular store (Big 10) just happened to be the place I got my Nitto TG's from due to my GF being able to get me a great deal there, so that's the reason I had them installed & got alignment done there. Anyhow, next alignment I will be sure to get that printout out of curiosity but it drives great regardless.

I know at least a couple people with Bilsteins at 2.5 who have a nice ride. One is a DCLB.

I'm running Eibachs for 1.5" of lift and had a difficult time getting my caster number high enough with stock UCA's.

Every place I have ever gone to attaches the alignment numbers to the receipt. If it rides fine, good for you, you're all set. We were just curious what your alignment numbers were.

Well that's cool but this place didn't, but it's not like I'm going back there so it don't really matter. It does ride good, thnx...and if by "we" you mean OZ then yes I realize that's what he wanted to know. That's why I explained that I didn't get a printout. When I go back to get it aligned again I will make sure to get the printout but I'm not all that concerned about it right now because it's fine with the stock UCA's.

Yep. In fact, the last place that did my alignment and didn't give me a sheet told me bogus results. It wasn't until someone called me out on TW about my "perfect alignment with stock UCAs" that I got it checked by another shop. Turned out to have just about 1* of caster.
