Howdy All! Happy to say I'm a new 2013 Tacoma Owner! Purchased a TRD OR, DCSB, Super White, no Nav. I bought it before it was delivered to the dealership, so I didn't test drive it, but knew I'd want it. Thanks to everyone on here, I've got several mods planned for her, but they'll all just take time. Drives great, and very glad to have the truck.

Here's a few observations/differences from the 2012 to 2013. First, Toyota did remove the little bed cubbyholes toward the cab. I was planning to mount some bed lights in there, but oh well, I'll figure something else out. Second, I have the touch screen radio without Entune/JBL. It works just fine, but apparently if you don't get the Entune/JBL, the vehicle is not satellite radio ready. This really pissed me off, because I thought all 2012 models (or at least DC TRD models) had the shark fin and sat radio. Because of this, it didn't even cross my mind to ask the dealer about it, my mistake. Third, I thought the TRD OR mirror included the homelink, but it does not.

I know I can add the sat radio and homelink later, which I plan to do, but I was a little frustrated to see that Toyota removed it all together.

I'll provide any updates or answers to other questions as I can.

very strange...almost every new vehicle sold today is SAT-Radio ready at least! All the 2012' Tacomas were? I thought so too. And the remolded the bed to get rid of the cubby bins? And you are sure thats a 2013? They are shipping them already?

congrats! sucks about the HL and sat radio though, I would've just gotten the 12 after I saw it didn't have those.

    nice truck

I probably woudn't miss the little forward bed cubbies much...

suprised to hear about the homelink? 2012 TRD OR & Sport have it??

I do like the new touchscreen radio...maybe a future mod for my 2012, but not at the expense of sat radio.

I love sat radio...and dig the shark fin on the top.

    Buffett approved "fins up!!!" :D

Congrats on the purchase! Bummer about the Sat radio and Home link, wonder why Toyota deleted these options? My 2012 has both, that head-unit does look nice though!

    huh?

the radio unit is clearly a '13...as is the bed.

plus the law requires a window sticker from the manufacturer clearly stating such info. and, I assume a VIN# would also confirm. although I have no doubts.

There's a cubby bin there. He has the electrical outlet so it's just smaller, i bet there's a bigger one on the other side.

He's missing the front pockets. Toyota must have exchanged the pockets for those front tie down points. How are those mounted and how much weight are they rated for?

The 12's have them too, short beds are up high, long beds like mine they are down lower. Not sure how much weight they can take. I know what cubby bins folks are talking about now....the one's that don't have the latching doors on them. Those are useless.

Thanks to all! Just a couple days in, and really enjoying the truck.

Installed a few minor add-ons to the 2013:

-ImMrYo's mirror relocation bracket. Easy, fits well, really like it not being in the middle of the windshield any more...
-Weathertech digital floor liners for a 2012 Tacoma fit perfectly in my 2013
-Console Vault install went as easy as expected. However, a word of warning, there is approximately 1 inch between the vault and inner console on the passenger side. Items can easily fall down there if not careful! (See pictures below, the koozie is highlighting this area...)
-mounted 3Dcell Maglite to driver seat
-Tailgate theft preventer 9000X (ie, $0.75 hoseclamp from home depot). I did see some others put some cloth between the clamp and tailgate cylinder to prevent paint chips. Thought that was a good idea, but decided to wrap the inside of the clamp with 3 layers of electrical tape instead. Should serve the same purpose

All of these were some of the simplest add-ons/mods, but first steps toward making it mine!

i keep all my straps/tie downs in those, keeps them out of the way and always reachable when i load the bed up. Usually i would forget i was burying them and had to dig them out, bitch! love them cubbies myself. The latchable ones i keep my tow hitch in the big one ( toyota had to have this in mind because its the exact perfect size for the whole thing to fit in there) and extra small bed rail cleats i bought in the smaller one.

thats weird that they took out the homelink if you got the TRD OR, mine came with it and wasnt mentioned as an option, so it was just part of it. Also not making the radio Sat and HD ready is jurassic marketing at this point, wtf?

I have the JBL/Entune so it had it but i always assumed the other would at least be sat/hd ready

Would love to see a smaller version of the vault. I only need enough room for my snub nose .357
