Error code: P0456 Evaporative Emission Control System

    2008 Tacoma 2.7L 4x4 Manual

    Error code: P0456

    Definition;
    Evaporative emission control system pressure leak detected -small leak.
    Probable cause
    -Faulty fuel cap
    -EVAP line leakage
    -Pump module failure
    -Canister faulty

    I had my check engine light come on and I took it to AutoZone and this is what it told me. Has anyone dealt with this before? Any tips are info would be greatly appreciated.

    That's what I'm thinking. Fingers crossed for the cheap fix!

    I'm actually not sure what it was yet. I'm going to pick up a new gas cap from autozone tomorrow since most people seem to go there as a solution, and they are cheap and easy to replace. If not, then I've got three more things to eliminate!

    I was throwing the same code off and on for a while. I replaced my cap and I havent thrown a code since. I am positive its your gas cap.

    Hey...since your getting a new cap check out the Murry locking gas caps at O'reilly's auto parts. :thumbsup: Mines been on for 4 years now with zero issues.
