faded plastic lenses ( lights)

My Wife has a 2002 Corolla. The right head light lens is starting to fade. The thing is that I wax it probably once every 2-3 months and when I do, I always wax the lenses too, which makes them look pretty clear for about 2 weeks or so. But over time they've gotten more and more faded. I've seen some products at stores that claim they clear up plastic lenses but figured its probably just wax with some kind of abrasive in it. Anyone tried something like this and had any success?

 

Try some jeweler's polish. They use it on watch faces. It's gentle where it won't scratch the glass or plastic. Also try a the eye doctor dept at Wal-mart. They have the clothes for plastic eye glass lenses. They can renew from scratches.

 

i have had good luck using some mequiars plast-x and a mothers powerball mini in a cordless drill. takes most of the haze off, and then you can run another type polish on it, and you should be good to go.

OK nobody listens to me anyways but here goes again: GS27!!!!! I don't HAVE fading headlights in my group of vehicles to do a video to show you how well this stuff works to remove the dull haze. WHY? GS27!!!!!!!!! I swear, I just may go locate a random car and do them a free sevice to illustrate!
Just go buy a tube and try it out. I swear by the stuff!

yep.....uncle frank is right......gs27 does do a good job. i used some of it on the mothers power ball mini..............good haze removal.

 

I was in Auto Zone the other day and in the car cleaning isle they sold this stuff that is suppose to clear it right up. I don't recall the name.

Meguiars Plastix or Blue Magic Plastic..... something.


Terry cloth and a little elbow action and wipe off.

 

Meguiar's plastic polish or Nevr Dull. The latter comes in a tin with wadding. Lightly rub on then wipe off with a clean towel.

 

toothpaste.. takes time but works.
Seriously, We did it to a guy at works Subaru.

 

Unless your neighbor borrows it and then charges you to go to Home Depot for a plywood run.
