So i have a question. If the adj. 5100's and longer coils are not a good idea, then why is toytec now selling the adj. 5100/eibach 1.6" coil setup?

5100's set at 0" and Eibach's should be ok. Even the first setting (.85"?) is probably fine. Setting the 5100's at 2.5 and adding the lift coils would be a problem though.

I just installed a set of Fox coilovers and Total Chaos UCAs on my 07 prerunner and now i cant get my truck aligned anywhere. Every place tells me that my inner tie rods are maxed out and there is no more thread left on the inner tie rods to bring the toe in and my truck is still toed out really bad. They suggested i try and find a shorter tie rod or one with more threads but no one makes them because my inner tie rods are connected to my rack and pinnion so they only come in one size. Anybody know what the problem or fix is. Im desperate, so any advice or insight is greatly appreciated

OK, I let go of the 6" lift idea, did not like the thought of a drop bracket. I do like what I have read about the 4" spindle lift. Currently I have the OME set up consisting of 885 coils with the 3" spacers that are extra for a full 3" lift, 90000 shocks for the front and N94 for the back to enclude Toytec AAL. I also purchased a set of LR UCAs, from a group buy that just ended. I have a 2005 dblcb Pre Runner Long Bed TRD Sport Pkg. Super White. I want it to look badass and I really like the 4" Spindle lift. I have already ordered my wheels and tires, 285/70/17 Nitto Trail Grapplers and XD Cranks. I think the 4" lift looks excellent. My question is, Can I use what I have and add the Spindle lift, or did I just buy all this stuff for nothing. Forgot to add,,,,,,,,,,,,,,None of this is installed yet.

I've read the entire first post by the OP, and was wondering if someone could clarify something for me. (sorry I'm a newb to Taco's, so please be patient with me??)

I see that the Coilover systems provide 3" of lift in the front, but are there any other systems that offer the same? I'm not looking for a Bracket lift, and am hoping to run 33's after installing the lift and new UCA'S....

Thanks again for your patience guys!

I have also read this entire thread and need some simple advice.

I just want the most simple method of leveling the front end.
I know people are against spacers but going with something like an All-Pro 1" spacer kit up front won't wreck anything as long as I'm not doing any high speed off roading, right?

    I assume 1" front spacers won't require re-alignment?

    Thanks for your help !

I'm pretty sure any suspension change will require re-alignment.

I think I read on hear awhile back that you don't need to replace the uca's unless you go 3". Does anyone know if that is correct?

I'm a little confused with your question. Your front set up is a coilover. You would be replacing the coilover parts to attain a lift on the front (assuming you aren't doing a SAS conversion). The amount of lift depends on the products that you get. Keep in mind anything over 2.5" you will have to get new UCA's and possibly new LCA's. Between 2" and 2.5" is a hit or miss for new UCA's

Thanks for your response man! But you've confused me a little more! lol!

My front setup is a Coil over? I thought they were Strut Assemblies, and Toytec and the like offer Coilover systems to assist you with lifting your vehicle?

Now, keep in mind here... I'm not a Newbie when it comes to lifting a Toyota. I actually lifted my 98 4Runner using Strut Assemblies from a 2002 Tundra TRD Access Cab 4X4, and used the Front coils from a 93 Landcruiser to lift the back of my 4Runner!

I've re-read this thread, OVER AND OVER, and have found a ton of products that are offered from Toytec that will provide 3" of lift. The only issue I have with Toytec, is the last time I called them to get a quote for parts + shipping, the shipping to Canada was almost as much money as the parts themselves!

I guess my initial question was...

Can I get a 3" lift that is: - NOT a spacer lift
    - NOT a Toytec Product
    - A "Frankenstein" setup like my 4Runner? (ie: Tundra parts??)

Now, I've also looked into the 6" Bracket lifts. (I know that I had said I didn't want a bracket lift) However, after seeing how amazing the Taco looks with a 6" lift and some 35's... I'm thinking I MIGHT go this route.

My main question for this setup is:

Do I need to Re-Gear if I go with 35's?

I know that in the 3rd Gen 4Runner world, 35's will require a Re-Gear... but 33's don't. (I'm running 33's on my 4Runner and find no power loss with this setup).

I've been on this site for a few days now, and have read over every thread I could find on lifting these babies! I have also clicked on everyone's signature and looked up what setup everyone was running, while checking out all the "Post pics of your (insert color here) Tacoma!"

Bottom line, I want to Minimally lift it 3" and run 33's. If money permits... I want 6" of lift, and run 35's.

(I want at least 1 inch higher in the rear, to have that raked look.)

Thanks so much for reading this, and I'm really hoping to get some more help from you AWESOME people!

    Rob.

I might be wrong but I consider the front suspension a coilover because the coil goes around the shock and basically are connected.

You could look into getting some Fox, King, or Icon coilovers to get you a 3" lift. I haven't heard anyone using Tundra suspension parts.
Most people regear with 35's and say it runs a lot better. 33's I think is personal preference.

For the rear, I don't know of many, (if any), that can get you a 6" without using spacers. So if you want the rear higher, I recommend sticking to the 3"

Keep in mind, I don't consider myself as an expert in this by any means. This is based off of my limited knowledge from spending time reading this forum.
