The used radio I posted is only 150.. I have two of those radios and they are just as bombproof as the icon with all the exact features. Both are outstanding radios and I think the only thing the icom has over the yaesu is the icom has the speaker in the front facing the driver so the audio is right there in tour face Haha..

Thanks monkey! I really need to figure out what I even need before I buy something but $150 sounds like a deal for sure. How much does a decent antenna run?

 

Antennas vary depending on what you want to run or how you want to mount the antenna such as drilling through the roof, mag mount, or something off the bed cage. There are also joints for the front fender. But on average 50-60 bucks

 

I dont know if they have a website mabye somebody else on here knows but if you look up ham radio outlet in anaheim it gives you there phone number and address

The old grumpy guy at the Burbank store asked if I had one when I bought my first radio..I told him I didn't have one yet but I was studying for the test. He reluctantly sold it to me Haha. Same guy gave me a hard months later because the back of my card wasn't signed when I was trying to pay for my new crap lol

Thanks for the link, do the hand held units work decently? I'm sure you do better with the mounted version with a real antenna but it would be nice to be able to use in multiple trucks if possible.
