So me, my GF, and a few of our close friends all want to do something this summer and we are really leaning towards a cruise. But none of us are sure how to go about doing this or what to look for. We are all around 19 or 20 and only have part time jobs! We are looking to go sometime in July! Someone please give us so advice or help us find a good deal!

For a nice inexpensive cruise, Look into ships going to the Bahamas. Many times, You can get a cruise there included with a hotel.

Do you have passports? You might not need them for the cruise itself, but if you have to fly back.... just something to consider.

    Have fun...

Yes passports when you leave the country anytime is a must! If you don't have them now then you need to apply for one soon! And look at royal carribean cruises. Best cruise line I've been on period! Another inexpensive cruise is to the US virgin islands. The beaches there are some of the best beaches in the world!

My wife and her two boys and myself are going on a cruise to the Caribbean August 23 thru the 30, 2009. I can't wait but there has been changes in flight plans twice already apparently Air Trans can't make up their minds.
This is our first cruise so there was alot of learning to do. Last cruise I was on was on a gray vessel and I was working (US Navy).

Save your $ and go in October. My wife and I went on a cruise for our Honeymoon. I got one out of the 10 top deck suites with a private balcony and hot tub for the same $ a normal room was during the summer. Also go through a travel agent. They can get you the same price as online and also offer lots of advice, plus you can save by buying your plane tickets, hotel, rental car, and cruise all in one package.

A cruise isn't all it's cracked up to be...in my opinion. Imagine a floating hotel.
When I go on vacation I don't like have to worry about packing a bunch of clothes. All most all cruises have a dinner you have to dress up for. I'm just not one who thinks a vacation is something you get dressed up for or you're told what to wear.

Some people like them...some don't. If you like the idea of being on a floating hotel than go for it.

There are plenty of other options available. You can always find cheap flights that'll take you somewhere with hotel included.

Don't pack nothing. I packed for my first cruise like a mad man. I got through the whole cruise with a bathing suit, a pair of shorts, t-shirt and flippity flops. I was kicking myself in the ass for humping luggage like a sherpa. Next time it'll all fit in a back-pack. ....and the dress up part?, I did have a suit jacket but a few of the "southern" folks and their cut off sleeved shirts and holey britches sure gave the staff at the fancy meal some fits.

There are laundry facilities on board. If ya start stinkin....jump in the pool!
