What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

What paint did you end up using?

 

Duplicolor gloss black

 

Yep. I was planning on it but thought it would be a bit tougher. Shiny and much more coarse then I thought it was going to be. I'll just sand it off and paint it.

 

Shit, the gloss black is a pseudo clear coat as is.

If you clean, sanded, primed and painted well... it'll hold up for a long time.

 

so touching up wont be very easy then?

No, it'll be fine. Just use the same gloss black.

What I meant by "pseudo clear coat" is gloss finishes are a lot more protective than flat finishes.

How do I remove my corner lights?

I've searched and found nothing.

The parts diagram I have says there should be one or two screws on the outside of the light.... I don't have any screws holding it in place.

Granted it's dark and I haven't opened my hood to see what's up, but figured I'd ask here if anyone knows.

 

the two screws are only on the 95-97 body style. yours should have a plastic push pin that attaches it to the grille and the bottom of the light has a little hook type of thing

 

screws are for us cool 95-97s held in for real!

This. its located right on top of the end of the grill under the hood. Pull that out then just pull the light out.

 

My corner light attaches to the grille?

There's a headlight in between the corner light and the grille.

 

lol they all do..haha on the top of the grill! go out and lift the hood and look.
