    What do you suggest for a good driving light? I'm talking about night driving in the mountains... mostly for wintry conditions.

    And something that isn't going to rip my wallet out through my arsehole either.

    That sounds like more light closer in, rather than offroad laser beams that light up the hills in the distance.

    My solution is better headlight low beams combined with PIAA 510 SMR fogs. Increadible improvement over stock on dark, rainy nights.

    Get some Hella 500s used for cheap, they pop up from time to time then put some DDM tuning HIDs in them like mine. Great lights, will be well under 200 if not 150 if you play your cards right. Hell if you post in the FS section like i did asking for HIDed Hellas you'll get something. i got all 4 of my Hellas with all 55w DDM HIDs two at 6000k and two at 4300k for 100 bucks shipped. I had to buy new balasts for them..but for how they work..WORTH IT.

    thats the best deal you can do IMO for cheap.

    Otherwise..get some LF170 or LF240s haha :p

    I do like driving with my head lights(which freaking SSSSUUUCK) and my 510s as well. Nice wide throw

    BUT..my Hellas have that new ellipsis? pattern lens, so they throw light wide and far..and are so damn bright. I wish i could have shown you..

    Low beams with the PIAA fogs. Wont get flashed by oncoming vehicles with this combo either. This is a normal, handheld snapshot. No special exposures.

    and that looks like what my high beams look like haha my head lights ssssuuck a dick.

    My LF170's that I converted to 55w HID's really light up the night. But... Not cheap :p I'd go with a pair of hella 500's if I were on a budget

    Yea i thought about HIDing my 240s..that would be scarey..but i like how the halogens just pop strait on. No fade in. not that that is a huge deal cause once the bulbs are warm on HIDs they pop on and off no problem..
