So the guy at the tire store says that KM2's wont work on factory TRD wheels because they are 10ply and it will interfere with the tire pressure sensors. I think it's bull shit but I thought id ask you guys to see if there's any truth to it by the way the size is 255/80r17

Lots of people are running 10 ply/E load tires with TPMS without problems.
    I run 255/85/16 BFG KM2s on 1st Gen TRDs.
I didn't get sensors installed for 2 reasons.
They are for off road and aired down most of the time. Sensors are in my committing wheels & system accepts only 1 set.

Just to clarify...if you have two sets of wheels, lets say summer/winter and they both have sensors in them you have to get it reprogrammed for like $80 or so everytime you change them? Thanks.

Don't know the cost to reprogram. But it can probably be done.
System can only accept one set of sensors.
If it's $80 it would be cheaper to have the tires swapped on the same set of wheels like a lot of people do.

Thanks, that is lame though. They make you spend money either way. Mounting and balancing is $100+ everywhere I checked here.

Anyway, I guess back to the OP' question.

was the tire in stock? if not, then that's probably the real reason he was shying you away from them. you shouldn't have any issues with that tire.
