    I just bought a 2006 Tacoma PreRunner Sport. It has a towing hitch installed. How do I tell if it has the towing package from the factory or if this hitch was added by the previous owner?

    Automatic or a manual?

    If it's an automatic, it will have a transmission cooler, 7-pin connector, and provision for trailer brakes (pop the underhood fuse box cover, there's fuses and a relay for it).
    If it's a manual, it will have all of the above less the trans cooler.

    my transmission will get really hot while off roading and i have a manual...is it possible to install a cooler on it ot should i just not worry about it?

    well unless a shit load of heat is coming up through the shift from the exhaust idk what it would be other than the transfer case
