oh like what Tony has? hell that would be easy to make too i think..might be able to do that with scrape metal..

i have not done a rear bumper yet..that would probably take more then a day..But using like a 5x3 channel would be simple enough i guess..then some 1/4'' plate for the mounts..and some sort of tube for bed side protection..

and as for that idea..like putting the spare up agains the back of the cab..don't like it..i mean if you want it go for it haha but i don't think its the best way to store a spare tire really..

ill do some sketches and you do some and maybe we can figure something out. Just be ready its not a cheap as you'd think depending on how extravagant you got..i spent 300 in steel for mine..granted mine is huge compared to most ha

im sure we could keep yours well below 200 tho..if done right. This could be fun.

oh and..i don't have a tub bender so keep that in mind too..could get one i guess tho..

 

im thinking of something like this, and i was probably going to box in the area under the tailgate, and put in a notch for the factory hitch

and for that..id need a tub bender..of which i don't have and id have to be good at bending..which i don't know if i am lol

 

i wanted the spare in the bed so it saves as much space as possible, so its not laying down how i usually have it. but id be building one or the other. and yes, this could be fucking epic

 

well im just saying that was kind of the idea haha! It would literally be bending the tube in 4 identical places. as long as we got the angle for one figured out it would be just replicating that for the other three. the rest i can do with angled cuts

 

oh! square tubing would actually be a pretty good idea, and make it a bit easier. i think we are also getting ahead of ourselves haha

 

making a spare mount like what Tony has would be pretty easy. However i think it'll only fit good on the rear of the bed..but im not sure. I don't think your 33'' tire will fit inbetween the wheel well and the cab..

best way to learn is to dive head first into it. Even if you fuck up you still learned how to do it right haha

i mean anything possible..but i fill like for the bed sids it would flow as well..but it wouldn't be bad.

I wouldn't bend the square tubing (at least I don't think so), I would cut the pieces of tube at angles to make the curve haha

 

Depending on how clean you wanted the curve to look that could be pretty time consuming

 

Local pocatello wheeling club is having a meeting at goodies tomorrow (thursday) at 7 pm. im going theres a bar in back.

 

Thanks for the info, but what is the Pocatello wheeling club? I know of SIK but I thought they hold their meetings on the 2nd friday of every month.
