Went to get into the truck and noticed what looked to be a wet spot about 6 inches wide on my new rubber mat - driver's side - right under the gas pedal. Touched it, felt greasy. Crawled under there and looked up. Seems like oil or lube dripping off of the hand brake of my 6 speed. Put my finger to it and a pretty good size of golden colored goop stayed on my finger pretty good, indicating that it's pretty thick to the consistency of corn syrup. Smelled it and it just smelled like oil.

Took it to the dealer after attending a commitment and because I didn't have an appt with them, they are keeping the truck overnight. I won't know until tomorrow evening what the issue is.

I just put the mats in not too long ago. I always wondered why there was a slight darker spot on the carpeted floor mat considering that is wasn't where my heel touched. I thought it was just because the texture was running against the grain. So apparently this has been an on going thing. Truck has 10k on it.

What do you suppose is happening?

Could be anything, still under warranty?

Indeed it is. It's got 10k on the clock, it's a 2010 bought brand new in May of 2011. From what I was told warranty starts on delivery date of first sale.

You are correct, don't stress it then they will fix it for you. I have seen it before on xrunners.

So that would give the feel of harder shifting? More than anything, I'm just wondering what's going on and why. Knowing me I'll be thinking about it all day at work. I know you know your stuff so if you say that's what it is, I feel confident with that answer. But now I'm thinking that perhaps it was there from the get go. The truck always shifted like my old 442 with the Hurst shifter did. :p

They don't just slightly leak typically. It probably started somewhat recently. The shifting may just be a characteristic of your truck, but I would make sure to inform them of that concern so they can look into it. Since its under warranty, if it were me, as slow as It has been, I would jump at a job like that.

The hard shifting was never a concern, I kind of like it BECAUSE it reminded me of the old style stick shift cars. I don't grind or anything, only once in a while when I forget and try to put it into first while still rolling.

But when I see others talk about having really smooth shifting (with MT90 tranny oil), it kind of made me wonder if the shifting characteristic was because of the clutch issue.

Hopefully they will fix the creaky clutch, I had mentioned that as well as the TSB for it (which he said he never heard of...) At the time it didn't make the noise (of course) but noted that it happens in the mornings usually.

Why would you jump on a job like that? Is it an easy fix?

If you had a true shift concern it could be anything, which could mean possibly removing the tranny to check the clutch, but a shop that claims to not know of the clutch squeak tab (which I don't think applied to the 2010's) might not go above and beyond for stuff like that. I honestly wouldn't worry, like I said the shifting is probably just a characteristic of your truck. Now stop worrying and be glad everything is covered under warranty.

So far I've been happy with the service at this dealership. Just hoping it's a simple fix. I've always heard that advisers will try to avoid talking about TSBs until you actually show them the printed copy of it. I didn't print it out because I was heading to the doctor when I saw it and took it straight to the dealer after the doctor.

As a whole, i would say advisors and techs dont care too much for when a customer comes in talking about TSB's even if they have them printed. In my experience, 90% of the customers that try to talk about TSB's or bring in the copies of them, they dont even apply to their vehicles. We even had a local member once that brought up like 6 different TSB's on here to me and swore up and down that he was having those exact issues, in the end 1 out of the 6 actually applied, but wasnt even and issue for his truck.

I see your point, makes sense. I like this dealership and I'm trusting them with my baby so I'm sure things will be good. It's just been a really bad day for me all around and this just added to it. :(

Thanks for your help, you always come through for me. :)
