    Hard to tell from all the photos i've seen. But it appears that the skid ride right up against the lower valance. is that right? I wanna get one, but im worried about the vallance and paint getting rubbed against by the skid.

    I know its a truck, I just dont want paint damage which could lead to further chipping and peeling.

    There is 3/16's gap between the bumper and the plate (At the closest point). If you wanted a bigger gap you would just need to add a couple washers. Personally i think it is the perfect gap between looks and functionality.
