I know, it is hard to believe $11 million is real money when you hear about crap like this.

In reality, for the league to be profitable they need to either find profitable markets, shrink the league(kick out the poor teams/let them fold), or cut costs severely so that the shitty markets can survive. Bettman is still trying to run this league like it is 1999 and it aint workin.

Yeah I just moved to CO and Im not an AVs fan, but I wouldnt mind going to 2-3 games/yr. But looking at that roster and with my Pens not coming to town, not sure if it's even worth it. I hear the Pepsi center is nice.

You can say the same thing about the players. All they care about is their money and they will even go to Russia to get it.

It doesn't bother me that the players don't care about the fans. I really don't need them to like me. Saluting the fans is bullshit. They don't know me, I don't know them. I come for the hockey. Yes there is some passion shared in cheering and energy in the building but that is all.

All I care about is that they love hockey.

And the players really do love hockey; they want to win the stanley cup.

You saw that with the blood bath in the first round of the playoffs.

I enjoy the fighting, but what I hate is the set good fights (Georges Laqoque type). Those piss me off. I also hate when a player puts a clean hit on a good player from another team, then thats a fight. If a player does somethign dirty, then by all means take him out.

You should try and go to a Red Wings vs. Avs game. Some good hatred there. But I also enjoy watching the avs lose

I would prefer more skill and less violence, personally. When the fighting becomes one of the games highlights, I am usually wasting my time watching a shitty game.

I appreciate hits designed to remove an oncoming players space in order to separate him from the puck. This is a play of skill. Guys who are on the ice for 20 seconds and basically forgo the puck to look for someone to nail are exploiting weakness in the games design. Figure out how to remove the shit-heads from the bench and fighting will significantly decrease in the game. Fighting is not the games weakness, it's causes are. Removing it is not a solution imo.

Agree, and when a lot of good players are out at the same time due to concussions it really sucks. At one point last season half an all star roster was out due to head injuries. That's not good.

i agree. Losing skilled players to shit-head plays is fuckin up the game. A lot of 'legal' hits are still dangerous plays. The rules on contact need to be revamped imo. The players and their coaches have taken liberties with grey areas and people are getting fucked over it. The NHL is so petrified to change anything it is ridiculous

Who doesn't appreciate a good scrap. Unfortunately most of the fights that occur on skates are duds. Its basically two guys trying to put their fists through a small window. Most of the times guys end up busting their hands on each others lids

i dont see that happening. The league is more concerned about heads hitting the ice surface than hands hitting helmets.

Stanley Cup at local rink for a rink tour! So much nicer than the cup they hold at the HHOF
