I have read there is no need to replace the fuel filter, but with 147,00 miles, I'd feel better. It is located under the intakes and very hard to deal with.

How's the best way to remove it?
Do I need to use the Toyota Brand filter?

Thanks for any help. Today is my first day on this forum and I'm learning.

You can access the fuel filter through the driver's wheel opening. Lift the truck to allow the tire to droop, then go through the opening. there is a thread somewhere that actually has a photo strip or video of this.

Wondering if you changed out the fuel filter. I've got a 2000 2.4 and need to change out my fuel filter as well and it looks like a PITA.

Any tips to make it go a bit easier?

Someone mentioned a step by step write up but I can't seem to find it.
