I advise anyone who wants anything to do with the suspension of their truck to stay away from Readylift products.

    Heres the story:

Back in December of 2008 my xmas present was to lift my truck so I did a little research on here and for the price I decided to go with a spacer lift and readylift had great value and 100% guarantee to maintain factory ride and 100% customer satisfaction. So I bought a kit that included a 3'' front spacer and 1'' rear block.

Well after I had the 3'' front spacer installed the truck rode like a BRICK. Every little pothole was magnified by ten.

So I went out did a little more research and decided to upgrade to coilovers and got the Icons. Very nice by the way.

I called readylift today to tell them my concern and that the rear blocks were fine no problems there but I was not happy with the front spacer at all. First thing the guy says to me is "I disgree with you that false!" WTF I am all about standing by your product but dont tell me I am wrong I am the one driving the truck. I called in calm and was trying to inquire about a partial refund for the spacer only. Some lady got on the phone and started talking to me like I was irate or something. Then the guy gets back on and starts explaining some BS to me about how if I go to best buy and buy this package and this part doesnt work I cant return just that part. I understand what he is saying but at the same time he is the manufacturer of the product and easily offer me a partial refund.

I have the blocks installed still and I have no complaint about them at all and I tell this to him. He tells me he cannot return a partial kit and that any return comes with a 15% restocking fee. So after all discussion / arguing goes on I finally ask him if I send back the whole kit can I get a refund?

He tells me sure as long as it is not installed? WTF again. How is a customer suppose to even assess satisfaction if they do not use the product?

This is a 10 minute convo and after he said that I just flat out told him I will be calling the Better Business Bureau about this and his cocky ass tells me " sounds like a threat"

WTF what kind of company is this.

worst part is I tried to file a complaint with the BBB and they are not even registered in their database.

    What do I do

    uhh...everything? lol
sorry to hear that, we have had no problems with ready lift at all.

I hate to say this but really you are stuck and they dont have to do anything. Unless they offer some sort of 100% satisfaction gaurantee or something for customers then you are completely screwed and he is in the right.

Im assuming you ordered directly from them. I advise everyone NOT to do that with any company because of this. See if you had this situation through a shop, they should be able to work something out with you and/or them. But just being on your own and complaining about the quality of the product isnt really going to get you anywhere.

this is one of those times when the right thing to do isnt really the right thing to do....but it is a shame that they wont stand behind their product.

This isn't the first time i've heard this about them. The grapevine says they're a bunch of douches over there.

You should have went with Toytec like I did and received the best customer service ever.

Yea, the guy argued with me that the spacer goes on top of the strut which means the factory ride is still there. Well that 3'' piece of metal did not maintain the factory ride i will guarantee u that.

Toytec spacers are probably better by compressing the spring however I do not know I never experienced their ride.

Anyways I got my coilovers installed now and I love them. Just wish the guy wasnt a douche lol

Try putting them up for sale and I am sure someone will give them a try just for the lift factor. Just be straightforward with them.

You know, the spacer kit doesn't change your spring rate at all (the only way to change your spring rate is to change your springs). In all likelihood, what you were feeling was the misalignment of your front wheels due to the lift. If you had taken your truck to an alignment shop afterwards and had the front end aligned, and maybe replaced your shocks, you might not have been so dissatisfied. From what I have read, anything over about a 2" lift causes your alignment to max out to the degree that your front end cannot be properly aligned for caster, unless you get a lift kit that includes new A-arms and ball joints. While that is not terribly critical, caster being out can cause bump-steer to be felt through the steering wheel. Any time you change the geometry of your front suspension from stock, you are going to feel a degradation of the ride and function. Toyota spends literally millions of dollars in engineering the suspension and steering components. You can bet your life that a $75 spacer kit will not improve the ride. I can't fault the manufacturer or seller of your lift kit for your dissatisfaction. His analogy about Best Buy was appropriate. You can't buy a stereo and return only the speakers, because you didn't like them.

On the other hand, had they worked something out to your satisfaction, you would be posting a different story on the forum, they would have earned a loyal customer, and they would come out ahead in the long run. Customer service is an art.

I disagree, I had the alignment done no more than 24hours after the lift was installed. Then drove on it for 30 days. The spacer basically felt like it was sending the strut through the housing everytime I hit a bump. The argument about new A-arms is correct however as I got new ones with my coilovers and the truck is way more responsive but rides no where near as rough.

Had the guy still given me some type of refund I would still be advising against using any type of top plate spacer. The ride was horrible end of story. I would not be compaining about his customer service though.

I say dont forget to post your experience on every other 4x4 forum you can find. reach out to the masses and stake your claim about their bad customer service.

Nothing is worse for a business than bad advertising.

But then again, not to preach but, I am certain just about every single lift question thread I have seen on this site and others starts with. DONT GET A SPACER KIT, they ride like crap.
