Sounds like Lisa was a victim of a neighbor's rose bush. "Darn kids. Stay off my lawn."

No. I had a big yard at my parents house to play in, I didn't need to terrorize the neighbors.

I have a son and I would not allow him to be on someones property after being asked not to. Be a parent and teach your kids to respect other peoples space/property.

My sister had issues with the guy that lives behind her, always calling the police (the agency I worked for) when the dogs barked. So at christmas she and the neighbors sent him one of those cards with a dog barking sound recording when you open it. He wasn't amused. Bottom line, some neighbors are assholes. Usually their kids are assholes too. Sounds to me like you took it upon yourself to solve the problem when common sense and reasoning didn't get through to your idiot neighbors. I say good for you

lol, sounds like quite a few of us have our share of the crazy neighbor.

in my case, we are 4' from our neighbors on each side. My house is 20' wide, and my lot is 25' wide - one side i'm 1' from property line, other side i'm 4'. neighbor (referred to as BOB) on right side has corner lot, and fence all around property. left side neighbor we get along fine with, our kids play together, etc. all 3 of us share a 10' wide driveway easement in the back. so we replace our backyard fence in June 2007, drag the pieces and everything down the easement and call the city for a bulk pickup. BOB takes us to court for Illegal Dumping and Trespassing - they sent 3 certified letters stating for us not to step on their property (keep in mind their property has fencing all around it). BOB has garage and short driveway along easement (only part not fenced in) - so apparently I stepped on a piece of concrete driveway? We go to court and the charges are dropped - but now we have this on our record. BOB's husband showed up to court wearing a tank top (she didn't show up), I wore a suit and my wife wore a dress. Judge even tells husband to stop talking. That was all in 2007. We still have issues with this neighbor, she recently called my wife "white trash" and stated we need to move. BOB sits in her house with windows open, out front on porch and out back constantly saying things about calling Animal Control for our dog barking, and again how we need to leave.

All we want is to live a peaceful life without some nasty person next door being rude and inconsiderate. I've had all the same things recommended, but nothing will resolve this issue. We are looking at ways to add some additional privacy above their 6' fence in our back yard.... possibly front yard too.

Carbon Monoxide poisoning kills. It's invisible an odorless and can come from many sources such as your gas furnace. Make sure you have CO detectors in your home.

So. I thought this was all over.
Tonight I am sitting on my couch and I hear a crash against my house. I get up cause the dog is freaking out, and I look out my kitchen window, which faces their front yard/my side yard. I look out, and the neighbor and his youngest kid, have been playing catch. They also had the kid on the other side of them playing too (he's like 23). When i look out the window, the kid that lives on the other side of them is jumping the fence of my BACK yard to retrieve their football. He gets it and jumps back over. Well, I go over to the neighbors house who we put up the bushes against their yard and said exactly this "So,I'm sitting in my chair in the living room and I hear a crash against my house. I look outside, and I see someone jumping over my fence with a football in their hand. Why? What's up with that?"
He looks at me, kind of smirks, turns to his kid he was throwing the football around with and says" It was doug wasn't it?" he says "What happened is doug overthrew my kid and he needed to get the football." He said it very rudely too. I answered "that it not acceptable. It's not acceptable for anyone to jump my fence to come into my yard. It never is." He responded "whatever. It wasn't me. He's 23 years old, why don't you go talk to him man to man" I said, "I'll talk to anyone man to man. Why is this so hard to understand? A third grader can understand it, why can't you? first off, your throwing your football into my house, which as loud as the noise was, sounded like it could have done damage. lucky for you, it didn't" He just rolled his eyes at me. "second, it is not acceptable for anyone to be jumping my fence ever" He was like "whatever dude, whatever." I said "next time, I call the cops". He responded "go ahead call the cops!, what are they going to say, that guy doesn't want you on his property?" i was like, "um yeah. We have asked several times, and it just keeps happening, so now it's trespassing"
Called the wife, told her what happened, and we have decided that that is it. From now on we just call the cops and let them handle it. We are thinking about putting up security cameras now too. I'm literally shaking because I am so pissed off right now.

Well, the problem as I see it, is that the kid that came over the fence, was his neighbors kid, not his. We've never had a problem with him. But he and his youngest son were out in their yard too.

My favorite part was that they guy who was telling me to go talk to the other kid man to man, wouldn't even bother coming out from behind his screen door to talk to me. LOL.

Trust me, the thought has crossed my mind.

I still don't get why he doesn't understand. And all he's doing is setting a terrible example for his kids. After I was done talking to the 23 year old, I came home. When I turned to the corner to my house, I see him walking and his kid walking over to talk to him.
Forgot too, when I was standing on the 23 year old kids porch waiting for him to answer the door, the neighbor I have issues with is standing at his door looking at me, laughing.
Way to set a good example for your kids there buddy.

And again, if your neighbor has asked that you not play football or baseball or anything so that the ball hits your house, especially when you have a front yard that is about 100 square feet, why wouldn't you just start picking up your dogs shit in the back yard so you can play back there? Or walk 1 block down to the school and play on their entire football field?

I agree, but to me it seems that they aren't going to change. Why not get a group of your buddies over and play ball in their yard and hit his house. Maybe then he will get the point.

Every time something happens document the occurence in a note book and file a complaint with the Police. Say nothing to the neighbors. When the pile of complaints gets high enough you'll have grounds to take them to Court.

sounds like you have inconsiderate and disrespectful neighbors. and...your patience has let them continue to take advantage of your property.

moving forward, any actions taken by you will paint you the bad guy. sadly, for some people it's all about themselves.

unless the current place is your dream home in the perfect location...I'd give serious consideration to selling and moving on. if, of course...the financial situation is suitable to do so.

    you are not alone. BTDT

    good luck
