"Pickup" or "Truck" what do you refer yours as?

Misuse of the word civilian. That means not military.

 

actually Coca-Cola is a brand coke is a generic term used to describe the aforementioned beverages, or a powdery stimulant.

when referring to the vehicle...it's a truck

when referring to its use...it's a pick-up

because pickup truck is wrong

 

things tend to get shortened

example:

"flying insect window screening"...to "insect screening"...to "screens"

No... you ask for a Rum & Coke.
When making a Long Island Iced Tea, it's a "splash of coke"

It's a generic term, and it is indeed regional.
Though I was born and raised in California, the regionally correct term is indeed "soda"... "coke" is more of a southeastern used term, and "pop" is more midwestern.

That's because in Manitoba, it's easy to mistake the mosquitoes for a squadron of B29s.

 

If I had a pick-up full of soda I would drive that truck like a man high on coke for days.

 

coke is a souther thing. and pop is also used in the north east. thats what all my family(and everyone i know) in NY call it.
