I have never heard any ever say im gonna go get a root beer. They say im gonna go get a coke. i frequent other brands quite often (except for pepsi or anything they make, can't stand it) but when u make out a grocery list or go to the gas station or the fridge u get a coke regardless of color, size, container, or flavor.

My dictionary defines "truck" as "an automotive vehicle suitable for hauling." Another dictionary defines "truck" as "any of various forms of vehicle for carrying goods and materials, usually consisting of a single self-propelled unit but also often composed of a trailer vehicle hauled by a tractor unit." Finally, still another defines "truck" as "any of various motor vehicles designed for carrying or pulling loads."

Each of those would obviously include a pickup. I call an "18-wheeler" either an 18-wheeler, a semi, or a tractor-trailer. However, all are capable of hauling, so all are, by definition, a truck. Same with SUV's, vans, and others primarily used for hauling or towing.

I refer to mine as either a truck or pickup, depending on how specific I need to be at any given moment.

Doesn't really bother me when someone calls a 4runner a truck - I didn't even think of it as an SUV - but a Highlander is not a truck......

H3's really are not that bad. The H2's are down right horrible but the H3's can hold their own.

I've never looked into it's capabilities. I just hate HUGEmongous things ha

I really like the new Runners, excluding their size.

Just personal taste though, not saying others can't like em :)

Guess it depends on where you live. Grew up in Oregon and I always say "pickup truck." We always say pop, I have never heard anyone ask for a "soda."

The first time I heard someone from the Midwest talk about 4 wheelers I thought they were talking about an ATV.

Now what about 18 wheelers?? I never liked that term. 18 wheeler usually implies a two axle trailer and is set up to go lower 48 and not over 80,000 pounds. When I drove I had 24 wheels. Should I still call that an 18 wheeler? A 24 wheeler sounds funny. Commercial vehical sounds too technical, and big rig sounds too colloquial. Maybe I should just call them semis.
