    Ok is there some sort of secret to getting the bowl out? Only screws I have in the back are the adjustment screws, everything else is out.

    That's it...just the adjustment screws.

    Make sure you mark the positions of each adjustment screw before removing...it'll make it easier on install and final adjustments on the truck

    But you don't have to take the bowl out to install the shroud!...only if you're going to paint the bowl

    AsianAnts can confirm this, but I'm almost 100% sure that the bowl doesn't need to come out to put the shroud on

    Man I feel stupid as hell I got the shrouds on with the SCREWS I started looking at the holes on the back of them and then on the projector. Well it is my first retro, I hope I don't have any other questions from here on out just pictures of the final project which I hope I'll get done tommorow afternoon. Thanks for all the help though. And just so everyone knows you don't have to take the bowl out lol.

    Why would you have to remove the bowl to paint it?
    The turn signal reflector is part of the surround that comes off with the front cover.
    Who cares if you get some overspray on the gray plastic that won't be seen?

    yup! bowl doesnt need to come off to put shrouds on..

    but to remove it, you need to turn the knob counter clockwise until it cant go any further, then use a flat head and pop off the ball/socket using leverage (should come off EASY)... keep unscrewing until the bowl falls out

    Still haven't got mine :/ hopefully will get them tomorrow (Las Vegas). Never got a tracking number though. Wish I could see so that I know nothing went wrong in the delivery lol.

    Anyone know how the hell I'm supposed to tape off a cutoff line when my lights look like this?? :confused: Glare everywhere... Maybe I'm too close? Im exactly 10' 8" away from my wall but don't have much room to go further (small rooms and garage is clustered). If thats the case I'll just have to go outside I suppose.

    Your cutoff should not look like this. In the pic below I was only about 5ft from my wall and was using a flashlight shining through the projector and it still looks perfect. Might wanna check that out

    Also, what did you mean by "tape a cutoff"... is this some trick used during install? :confused:

    And Rich, you said 20ft... is that how far we need to park out truck when leveling the lights after install?

    I read through the PDF from trs that you should turn your lights on against a wall with the *reflector* and tape your original cutoff line (as a reference) before you cut it out to put the projector in. So that you can match the original cutoff line with that of the new projector. Here is a link to that PDF: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pdf/trs_tech/FX-R_Projector_Retrofit.pdf
    Check "Step 8".
