Tell them you'll pay MSRP, but you want it as your "out-the-door" price. With taxes, license, & all of the other add on fees I would try this first.

MSRP isn't even a good out the door price. Should be shooting for somewhere between MSRP and invoice. The closer to invoice the better. Depending on your state taxes, you can get within a $1000 of invoice.

Tax up here in WA for cars is the local sales tax rate + 0.3% additional. In Seattle, that makes it 9.8% so getting within $1k of invoice OTD seems fairly unrealistic here.

However, it seems the consensus is there is more room to drive the dealer lower. I personally thought this was a decent deal as it was below true car and edmunds TMV. Very glad I chimed in here first. :)

If you're with USAA you can get special pricing. I built my 2012 on their website, they guaranteed $2500 less than MSRP, I got a dealer from out of town to agreed to that by phone and then asked the local guys to beat them by $500. (For my 2012 in December)

I got my 2012 DCSB TRD Off Road 4x4 with V6 Towing package for $30,854. That was the price on the dealer's invoice.

So the combination is 1,2,3,4,5 ... That's the stupidest combination I've ever heard in my life! That's the kind of thing an idiot would have on his luggage.

    BTW 12% yikes!!!

tax in WA is a major reason it took me forever to buy. adding $3k to the purchase price just plain sucks, Canada nothwithstanding.

another crappy thing about WA, or at least the Seattle area, is that dealers don't seem to want to deal. i walked out of every dealership in the area at one time. if they can sell a truck for $32,000 why sell it to me for $30,000?

Just got mine this weekend. '12 sport standard bed no entune $27,100. (The guy at John Elway Toyota spent 3 weeks finding the PERFECT truck for me) And, because I went through internet sales, and used my parent's Ventura County address, got the 1% cheaper sales tax, even though it was purchased in Los Angeles County.

2012 DCab TRD Sport 4x4 stk $32800, I got mine for $30,700 OTD. Included in the deal was 6/75 b to b warranty and 6/75 free maintenance oil/tire rotate. I was told that xtra warranty/maintenance is something my local dealer throws in for goverment employees at no charge. Seems to be a pretty good dealership.

Looked at buying a 2013 "limted" in Burlingame california, they want 36,987? before taxes!!! I asked for a tacoma 4x4 limited , leather, heated seats, day time running lights, nav, blue tooth, fully loaded, and it has to have a short bed. i dont know if that can be ordered in california?
