So I dont know too much about guns. I have a Sig P226 but I would like to find something small that I can carry around with me. Anyone suggest something decent?

Whats your definition of "Pocket"? Somthing easilly concealable? One that actually FITS in a pocket? 1 shot? 5? 10? Caliber?

Kel-tec makes a lot of Very small pistols. I own one and like it a lot. Makes carrying. Concealed a lot easier

Yeah something concealable, better than my Sig. Just something that will knock someone on their ass!! Maybe a .40? at least 5 shots cuz I probably wont hit anyone on the first shot:D

If you want that big of a bullet your prob going to need something bigger then a pocket sized pistol. I know keltec sells there small pistols in 32, 38, and 9mm. I used to own a kimber ultra carry. It was a 45, it was a good gun and only had a 3" barrel but when I was in shorts and a t shirt I still found it alittle to big to Carry all the time.

    stock, for now
there is a gun out there made by North American Arms, its a legit pocket gun. The grip folds up, and there is a clip on it so when you put it in your pocket, it looks like a pocket knife. Too bad its only a .22 tho.

A .22 cal. is a pretty effective round.

there are 2 sides to the "caliber of choice" coin, however.
First, the .22 doesnt carry alot of energy. many folks say that if shot with a .22, the attacker may still be able to fight/attack, where as "if" hit with a larger caliber, the attacker is more likely to "know" they are shot.

Second, if shot in the chest with a .22 cal., not many people are going to care weather they were hit with a .22, or a .40. They are going to know they are shot, and could possibly die, thus ending the attack.

My oppionion is this.....Not many folks will stand 15 feet in front of me, and let me throw a golf ball sized rock at their chest as hard as I can. A .22 will hit harder than that. I know quite a few people who carry a .22, and feel comfortable in their protection. Accuracy is key. Missing with a .45 is much less effective than a couple hits with a .22. Carry whatever caliber you can comfortably, and accurately hit a target with. Also, see if you can do some stress type shooting scenarios. IF you have to draw the weapon, your heart rate will be thru the roof. Your vision will be fucked. And you WILL be shaking.

IMO "pocket pistols" are not good as a primary,... maybe as a secondary BUG, or some such thing,... for a primary, i'd just carry the SIG and at least an extra mag in a clip-on mag holder... ...don't forget to train, and be safe ;)

Glock! nothing is more important than reliability. You want to pull the trigger and go bang every time.

These are the subcompact models or also known as baby glock. Very easy to conceal and comfortable for every day carry.

Here is the two most common models in this size.

    G26 9mm
G27 .40cal preferred in my opinion.

Colt Mustang in .380ACP. 5 round capacity I think. This will literally fit in your back pocket or the Ruger LC9 in 9mm.

I love my Kahr CW9, they do make smaller versions but I'm amazed at how fun and easy it is to shoot and in such a small package. I hardly notice I'm shooting a compact, shoots a lot like my full size G17.

Either that or a M&P Shield.

Both are roughly the same price. ~350 - 380

The CM9 is a little more of a pocket pistol, but the CW9 fits great IWB.

carried this in my pocket for about a month or so while i decided on a holster for it.. ended up with a crossbreed super tuck but i still carry it in my front pocket from time to time.

5 shots of 357 mag should be plenty.
