Just a general question from others who may have this combo. I just noticed that my mechanic installed my 882 OME & Bilstein 5100 BUT!! at the 2.5" setting instead of what I told him of stock height setting ring. I don't know of any potential problem or if it makes a difference other than more lift... I have noticed that the front bounces quite a bit BUT that could be cuz i haven't yet installed my TG bumper and at some point a winch.

Does anybody have any thoughts, recommendations on my current setup? Should I go back and have him put it at stock setting? He is a friend and did it on the cheap for me...

I also have the new dakar leaf springs with 5125 in the rear. Any input on that?

Yeah you need to go back and set it to the stock setting. Im pretty sure you can break the shock by doing that because of how long the 882's are and by compressing it that much its putting a lot of stress on the shock. It should ride a lot better at the stock setting also. OH! And if your 4x4 your CV's are probably horrible.. can you post a pic?? I wanna see how much lift your getting

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
MTGirl had the same problem and drove for a few days.

Remember these are 882's though and they're longer than the 881's

i had the 881's and Bilsteins set all the way to 2.5" and rode it out for a few days. As you already know, the front end feels stiff as a board because of all the pressure in the coilovers.

i bet your mechanic had a hell of a time trying to compress the spring that much to fit and he very well could have broken either his compressor or his bones!
have him change the snap ring back to stock immediately amigo!...but i bet the amount of lift looks good :D

I can only imagine the work... anyway I would have trusted his work but I by chance looked at the setup last night while prepping the truck to install the new bumper and low and behold... wrong setting.

Looking good!! The TG is what I'm going for, but I think i'm going to opt for the light bar (not the stinger). the front must have been sky high with 882s at 2.5! i know my 881s at zero give me like 1.75 inches.

My next option is to maybe add an All-Pro Off Road rear bumper with hitch.... Eventually I'll be pulling small trailer/boat so I can go fishing around the North Texas area.

nice! i think some 1.25" spidertrax wheel spacers would make your truck look a lot better. i have the same size tires and i put 2" spacers and i think it makes it look a lot better and a little more aggressive.

    just a suggestion:D
