Not sure if the trd coils are stiffer than regular tacomas, but I changed mine out for ome 885's so whoever wants to pay shipping can have them.

Also, since the 885 coil install (done by a mechanic), i've noticed a "whir" from 50-60mph. Almost like a ball joint or wheel bearing noise, that was never there before. I have the Rocky road shim too. Could this be the CV joint? And if so should I do the diff drop?

The noise you hear is a vibration coming from the front diff. When I had my 09 with 885's the same thing happened.

Has anyone taken your coils yet? Hard to pass up on free coils.....at some point i'd like to upgrade to 5100s and having the progressive TRD springs would be an added bonus.

If the OP has TRD Sport they are the same coils as the SR5 and base model Tacomas, if he has TRD OR, then those are indeed the progressive coils, might want to check before picking them up.

That's right, I read that before. Thanks for the reminder.

ryanr623, TRD OFF ROAD coils are the progressive style. Base, SR5 and TRD Sport all share a common front coil spring. Also, is your truck Access cab or Double cab?

I've had noises for 50K miles. Nothing has gone wrong yet. I did the same lift as you the first time, now I am up even higher and have a bunch more weight up front. As for the diff drop, I would never do it. I see too much dirt and rocks to hang my diff any lower. I prefer the ground clearance. CVs are designed to be at an angle anyway. I know someone will have the link, I don't, but there was a guy on here that did the diff drop, modified skid plate to protect it, still hit it and caused over $1500 worth of damage.

Well I guess I'll just live with it. Its so slight that the only time i can feel it is when im on the gas or brake. Doesnt do it in 4wd, so i guess thats definitely the cause

You still haven't said if you have a Sport or Off Road Tacoma. Makes a big difference.

You can have them Redneck. I'm no where near close to putting them on my truck anyway. I'd rather let someone who may actually use them sometime soon take them.
