    Just shy of 14" at the shock mounts. I didn't bother to measure actual wheel hub travel. As you can see from the photo, the measurement at the hub is "enough" :laugh:

    No. The motion of the spring upon return to ride height is backward and upward (think diagonally slanted line) along a vector below where the shackle mounts to the frame. Thus, the leaf spring pushes the bottom of the shackle backward until it's past the frame mount location before it starts to rise. No way this sucker's gonna invert.

    Thanks bud.

    I dunno about all that now. I like where it's at, but some of the stuff I do with it during my daily life (mulch from the landscaping guys :laugh: ) keeps me from going too overboard on capability mods.

    I wanted it as capable as possible offroad while still keeping it very streetable. Not just "can drive on the interstate", but "perfectly pleasant to drive on the interstate". I think it's about there.

    Going any further is going to require modifying far enough in one direction that some of the all-around utility gets sacrificed. That's just not the direction this build is destined for. Need to knock out a little less than a year's worth of payments, then it's time to start looking for some late 80s pickup or ho'runner to SAC, Cage, and roll :cool:
