Just trying to cut expenses and save time. $40/oc isn't the end of the world but that's $40 I thought I could cut out every month and a half. A few compromises like that and suddenly your insurance, phone bill, and internet are paid for instead. Makes a difference. I used to spend a lot of time doing my own maintenance or detailing cars of the past. Shit got real, I'm gone almost 14 hours a day.

That's wild to hear places don't add the option for 0w20 in their systems. If that was the case in my scenario then it cost them more to buy me the parts for a re-do than to add it to their list.

650H1, not sure what you're getting out of posting in this thread, perhaps you need to go nut in your special sock? You'd hope that your first slip in vehicle maintenance happens quite some time after 4600 miles. I'm not going to wax this truck like it's some sports car, or park miles away from other cars in parking lots. I was going to be anal about maintenance though.

Haha yeah, its pretty dumb that they wont update their system lol... But like i was saying, they probably did use 0w20 in your truck, because as dumb as the express techs are, its pretty hard to mess up, especially when it says '0w20' on your oil cap, that 5w30 is just defaulted in their system and is just what the computer spits out to just say that an oil change service was done to your truck, so its in their records under your name. And yes, i do understand that $40.00 can deff pay some bills, and taking advantage of toyotas 2 year commentary maintaince plan is a step in the right direction for you, but, while this time it may have been just some sprayed oil on your engine, and a slightly low oil level, next time it could be something worse that causes your truck to be out of comission, then u wont be able to make it in to work and u ull loose way more than $40.00 .... I understand that your truck is an investment, so why not try your best to protect your investment?

Dude, this situation really sucks. :p
Personally, I would never take my vehicles to a dealer- I do all the work myself. But I definitely understand wanting to take advantage of the perks, and not having much time! :)
I think you're doing the best thing by going to corporate- the dealership fucked up, and they should be held accountable.
    Anyways, good luck!

Why are you so concerned about "wrong oil"? It's still 4 stroke gasoline motor oil. The fact that it is a lightly heavier weight is by no means harmfull.

Just do the oil changes yourself.............then you know it is done right from here on out. I also work 70 hours aweek.............but still manage to change my oil on the weekend.
