Anyone looked into this cb radio at all? Has anyone bought one? It looks like a great radio, but I'd like to get an owners perspective on it regarding features, quality, and location of install.

Looks like a sharp radio. Do you use side band at all? The Cobra 29 LX is a similar radio with a digital display and no side band for less.

Well, I want the sideband option. The 29lx is a couple inches larger as well. Seems to have everything I want. Ssb, weather, scanning features.....all in a relatively small, modern package. I'm just unsure of the performance.

I'm thinking I could mount it on the drivers side of the center console due to the size, but I'm unsure. I don't think I could have it mounted on the rear of the console. I'd hate having to turn around to look at the radio all the time.

I'm not sure of the size of the Uniden, but if it's single din size it may fit here....

I just checked the specs on the Uniden and it looks like it's a little too big for the place I had my 18. The height on the 18 is 1 and 7/8's of an inch and the Uniden is 2 and 1/4 inches. The Cobra was a VERY tight fit there so you would have to find a different mounting location.

Yeah. I don't like the lack of weather and scan features. If it had those, I'd buy it in a second.

Well then it sound like you should give the Uniden a shot.
