How the hell do you get this thing off!!!

I tried turning it, I tried plyers ( only thing that managed was to scratch the paint off of it)

Do I need a certain tool to turn this thing?

Reason i ask is because before I can order in my stubby, the guy needs to know how many threads it has.

if the order the stubby it comes with the kit that has all the threads you need. So you dont need to worry about the thread count.

It should simply unscrew. I have never needed any tools.

Ok so I was turning it clockwise thinking it was the male end with the tread so like an upside bottle the truck would be the cap. Am I wrong should I be turning the thing counter clock wise??

No...it's the "bolt". Lefty loosey and it will come right out.

I'm surprised you didn't try both directions before wrenching at it and scratching paint. Now it's going to be awfully tight! If you still have trouble, spray some liquid wrench in there to loosen it up (wd-40 will also work but not as well as LW).

Hmmm, after the lift, mine hits every other cement beam in the parking garage at work every day coming & going & has not come loose yet, about 8 levels up where I park. Let us know how the reception is on the stubby.

reception is pretty good actually, may have lost one channel that I know of, but that one went to shit anyhow so I'm not worried about it. I now have teh jvc head unit so I'm listening to my ipod more than anything anyhow.
